Pure suspense the whole way through, and absolutely love the commentary on spectacle, greed, and trying to use and control things we don't understand. Back in the day I was hanging out with groups of friends almost every day being adventurous young and dumb. Good response, yeah. I get that. For me, it's easily music. I try my best to not get upset at anything too often, but if I do, just turning on the right song can make me forget about the whole thing instantly anyway. Settling down with a cup of tea or coffee and watching something good instantly boosts my mood too. Ah, no worries, I have trouble picking my favorites usually too XD I don't really like the RE movies, no. They're very unfaithful and kind of just boring and nonsensical to watch most of the time. The earlier ones fare a little better for me, like RE: Apocalypse is pretty fun just because it has Jill and takes place in Raccoon City but FUCK the changes to Nemesis and all that. You know, I just see the movies as their own thing really, barely connected to the series except by name. I guess you can say they're passable zombie apocalypse movies on their own. I do like the animated movies however. Diminishing returns for sure, but at least they're actually canon and I like that they take the time to use characters somewhat neglected in the main series (Claire & Rebecca for two). Vendetta was utterly stupid but it was a pretty fun movie anyway. Do you have a mantra or personal motto you follow? --- I've decided to put my fears behind me. I mean I love them all, but Speak Now represents such a clear artistic vision for Swift that for me it stands head and shoulders above the others. Being that she wrote it all herself, I think it best showcases her influences and song-writing styles the best - she expands on the country sound of her previous two albums and brings in more pop, some pop punk, and some arena rock with an impressive range of emotion. This album is sweet, funny, sarcastic, nostalgic, and bitterly angry all at once. Long, intricately woven and compelling ballads of sorrow & regret like Dear John or Innocent stand in contrast to blistering whirlwinds of vitriol like on Better Than Revenge or the restless anxiousness of love like on Mine or Sparks Fly. But they never feel at odds. It all feels like a singular experience of being a young adult flailing through life and trying to make the most of it. Always catchy, always musically sound, and every song genuine, Speak Now is a masterpiece and easily one of my favorite albums of all time.
