It's cool that Wire Step works with Adrenaline Rush, Status Trigger, and Bladescale Hone. I used to use the Rampage SA with a Para phial when playing with friends pre-Sunbreak, but I haven't gotten around to making a new Para SA set with the new dodge stuff.

Sure wish SnS' backstep worked with any of them :/

C and it's funny you mention those two TC because I was interested in the latter until I heard about the release, which is why I still haven't played it. The former I've been thinking about trying out one of these days but hearing its name just makes me think "failure" every time.

Is it the first one since Covid started? I know I was excited for EVO come back this year so maybe there's a similar excitement for it. I'm not sure if this year had anything particularly exciting or not compared to previous years.

Nope. I'm probably one of the lighter people on CE unless there's like some middle school sized skinny person here.

Retro 1st party games were definitely better back then. Patches have been a real detriment when it comes to quality these days, which is funny because it should've been the tool to solve stuff that stayed broken forever.

I mostly play indie crap these days, which despite smaller budgets and teams(some of which are literally one person sometimes) are still more polished than AAA garbage.

Definitely Wo Long Dynasty after the demo, and Silksong which is my most anticipated game. Harvestella fascinates me but I'll only make my decision after the demo. Octopath II could be neat, but I never got around to the first <_<

No idea. You can try to search "demo" and sometimes games with demo's will appear near the top, but it seems to be yet another way Sony managed to make the PS5's store worse(they're really good at ruining it over the years).

Getting back on topic though I finished the Wo Long demo just now. It's pretty fun and it feels close enough in Nioh to trip me up, because the gameplay obviously isn't 100% the same. I only really messed around with the Polearm weapon and it felt nice enough, but the game overall feels less action-y like Nioh and more Souls-y which kinda worries me. The spells didn't feel too helpful during the last phase of the last boss and I feel like my victory came out of nowhere but I'll take it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgyrHm1N7sg

It's a silly take, but what other reason would there be to go free to play? OW1 was a fully paid game and it made millions of dollars. As far as I know, the only big f2p hero shooter has been Paladins, and it's almost ten years old and still going strong. I guess they want that sweet mtx money, but they're taking a huge risk where they're offering the game with no up-front cost during the worst optics of their life.

They might think it can make bank compared to just the one purchase(+possible lootbox purchases) of the base game. They could be looking at gacha stuff like Genshin Impact or probably BR's like Fortnite as F2P titles that are swimming in money.

Remember when Overwatch 2 was supposed to just be a free update? After all the changes and Kaplan leaving I think there were too many red flags for some people to come back. I actually have a PC now as of last year that can play it better than my Xbone, but I guess I'll never experience that after all.

Probably. I'm fasicnated by the thought of SE trying their hand at RF, and it comes at a perfect time since it seems not too many were satisfied with RF5. I haven't downloaded the demo yet though.

I assume they don't because they know their AAA crap will lose sales once people realize how bad the games are. I feel like there are so many indie demo's coming out these days, but a lot of them are constrained to Steam Next Fests.

Right now I am playing the demo for that wo long fallen dynasty game, and since it uses the awesome nioh character creation I can easily see myself making a dude and a lady character for this one.

Nice. I loved all the hair options in Nioh 2, and ended up making a nice looking Nagoriyuki from Guilty Gear.

I've only watched bits and pieces but it seems like a pretty cool show. I just haven't sat down to give it a real watchthrough. I believe the last episode I saw was when the T-rex's eggs hatched on that one boat.

These were my favorite parts of both Stadium's.

I played Monster Sanctuary recently and enjoyed it a bunch. It's like $6.50 or so on Switch right now. It's hovering between an 8.5-9/10 for me, with the free DLC adding some neat features for replays. It's a monster collection RPG with a Metroidvania-esque map, and it really scratched that Pokemon itch for me since I stopped playing that series after USUM. Monster Sanctuary feels much harder than any other Pokemon game though, but I did 100% it with the original team I took through the game.

Katana Zero is also on sale and it's one of my favorite games I played this year. The levels are really short but it was pretty addicting for me(I beat all but 10 minutes of it in one sitting).

Doubtful if not 100% deconfirmed. The Roadmap changed so now it's just the three Monsters and Layered Weapons for September.

Same, though this does give me time to get some of the optimal weapons ready for layering.

Edit: Watching the stream rather than the trailer now and it seems we only get one additional weapon augment slot for weapons, but they did show off the Attack augment going up to 3(which costs all 6 slots). Also when they got to the layered weapon parts it stated "and almost all weapons up to Ver.12 are available for forging" which sounds disappointing. I'm hoping they just mean the colored Rampage weapons and no other designs but I guess we'll see later this month.

OH FUCK I didn't see a new Chameleos coming(heh). According to the site they've overcome the affliction so I guess they're like 4U's Apexes in that sense. Layered Weapons is a few months late but better late than never I guess. Now I can finally make Valstrax's horrid looking IG and use literally any other Dragon design.

I'm not sure why Reddit in particular got popular, but they have a subreddit for what feels like everything. I don't think I've ever used a site that has something for everyone.
