Amber's interview keeps going poorly and she's just utterly unconvincing and gives non-answers to every question or outright lies.

At this point, Depp's team should be filing an injunction because these lies are absurd. I'm sure they don't want to bring her to court over these claims too, but they'd need to wait and see if there are damages. But fuck, she just can't stop and let it go.

I had read something about Brooks representing himself pro se during the Amber Heard stuff. Rocky Brooks is the guy Johnny supposedly assaulted, and they were talking about Mo Brooks, who is in a case with Donald Trump.

So my fault on that one. From what I can tell Rocky Brooks in the Depp case does have a lawyer.

There's a lot wrong with what you said.

He likely expected a settlement with the upcoming pressure of the Amber Heard trial, and he likely expected that settlement to be solidified because he assumed like most people Amber would have won that trial, making it more likely Depp would settled to get that one away.

Obviously that didn't happen, and now he's stuck with this upcoming trial that he may still try to get out of before it hits the court room.

But if he's banking on getting appearances and such to make up for the ridiculous amount of money he's likely spent so far, it's not going to make up for it. Not only that, he's also likely to pay for attorney's fees after they waste all this time with an obviously fake story. So he's just continually losing money at this point.

What happened was he was trying to piggyback off of a Heard win, and it fell through and he's in too deep now.

Depp's team also wants that trial with the dope that he supposedly attacked to be televised as well, which considering he just came off of winning this trial, I sincerely doubt they'd be willing to throw all of that good will away by having it televised if there was any chance he had hit this dude.

It's probably not going to end up being televised, but it says a lot of Depp's team is fighting for it to be. The court probably wants to save this poor asshole from trying horribly to represent himself in this case.

Like imagine how awful your case must be if not a single person is willing to represent you for being assaulted by a celebrity with plenty of witnesses there.

Yeah I didn't follow the trial at all, I was more talking about how both of them are abusive in general. I feel it's pretty common knowledge at this point that Depp has assaulted several people throughout the years.

It just feels weird to me that people feel so strongly about having to pick a side between two people who are both not great.

Who has Depp assaulted?

Because the only person that there has been any assault connected to with people close to them has been Amber.

The jury found that there was a particular incident where Depp's lawyer said that Heard committed abuse which she didn't do. So that's defamation. But their verdict is consistent with them finding that particular incident didn't happen, not that Heard was never abusive.

This is incorrect.

Depp's attorney, Adam Waldman, had made a statement where he said Amber and her friends created a hoax. They felt that statement was defamation because Depp's team didn't do enough of a job proving that it was a hoax.

However, there are no actual damages they could connect with Amber and she lost nothing as a result of that statement, so it's confusing how they could even give her this.

It reads more like a jury compromise verdict, where someone had apprehension about going full Depp so they said they would give Amber this gimme. If it goes to appeal, there's a chance they may overturn it because the evidence isn't there for Amber to have any damages from it.

Not the repeated lies. Not the outrageous stories that were impossible. Not the audio of her admitting to abusing him and admitting he tries to escape from conflicts. Not the fact that her experts were hot trash that fell apart on every cross examination.

And even if you want want to claim "they saw the internet reaction and made their decision because of that", Amber's team REPEATEDLY cited to the internet by showing the overwhelming support Johnny had, in trial, to the point that the jury was aware Amber Turd was a thing, and that Amber told them more than once to look at how nobody believes her on the internet.

So if you want to say "The jury was looking stuff up on the internet" then it was Amber's fault they actually did so, because she tried to weaponize it for pity. And then, you need to assume that the jury saw people making TikTok memes and decided it was accurate to what they were watching through every day of the trial.

Like this is dopey logic for dopey people.

Like my feeling with Starfield is that the rest of the game looks great. I don't need to waste time making ships and colonies and stuff and I don't have that time investment, but sure. It's cool. The best part was clearly the spaceship combat. Big ups.

But the majority of it seems to be this boring, derivative looter shooter combat, which I don't think is even remotely interesting. The fact that it's bound to take up most of the game is not great and I hope that they can figure out how to improve it before launch.

Overall, it's a game that's not for me because the ambition is too broad with building customization bits that I would never want to bother with. I'd probably play it if it wasn't so huge, honestly. It's weird.

To answer your question, I was expecting something that at least looks like it would play a bit differently. The combat is likely to take up the majority of the game and looks like same ol' Fallout style with nothing new tacked on, and it actually feels like a step back.

Anyway, they have a lot put into this game but I dunno. It seems overwhelming to me and a time sink I can't get into, especially if the majority of it will be generic looter shooter stuff.

So Starfield is just space Fallout.

I mean, nothing is blowing me away right now more than any other looter shooter except they have put a lot of care into their world.

Bummed out Scorn wasn't Darkseed 3.

Is there an actual source on this? The original story was broke by a known bullshitter, I can't seem to find anything from Christian Whitehead or PagodaWest on the matter, and Headcannon actually even did some work on Origins. There doesn't appear to be any proof Mania 2 was ever even thing.

Yuuuup. Basically, Sega low balled them on a contract concerning them making additional cash based on sales because neither party expected it to sell as well as it did.

And then it did a tremendous amount of sales, and then the DLC did a ton of sales. And Sega refused to give them any further money in exchange for working on future projects. So I don't blame them--there's more money to be had if they make a game from their own studio at this point. It's really sad though because Sega could have fixed everything by giving them a bonus for such a successful project, especially since it was the only positivity Sonic had at the time pre-movie and Sonic Forces being a pile of shit.

I really am just convinced Sega is the worst at marketing now.

Everyone who has had a chance to play Sonic Frontiers hands on with the recent build is saying it's great. Not trying to get up hopes, but it does feel more promising with actual people complimenting the game instead of the disaster IGN stuff.

Maximillian has hands on reaction to the game. I like him because he can explain everything really well for most any fighting game skill level. His opinion though seems pretty cautiously optimistic too, like he's afraid to say anything too too positive about it just yet, which is fair. The game looks really cool and stylish though.

Anyway, this movie is going to be successful anyway because they aren't making this movie for America, they're making it for China and surrounding countries it did absolutely enormous numbers for. Even if it sinks in America, overseas it's going to more than make up for it.

I mean, there's "separate the art from the artist" and then "giving more money to this massive corporation who put someone in a movie in a now minor role who lied about the most horrific physical and sexual abuse you could accuse someone of for clout to take advantage of a movement made for actual victims of abuse".

She's in it for 10 minutes (or 20 minutes in this new cut, which is probably to test how people react to her having more time). You can reshoot for those scenes, and you should. She's a gross, abusive, awful person who gaslit the world and continues to gaslight them on the backs of actual victims of abuse.

I get that. I really do. There's been a lot of times where I've told my girlfriend I don't like certain parts of her culture, and she honestly agrees. And it takes time for South Asian families to slowly get out of that. Without getting into the reasons why, something majorly negative happened with my sister's family that resulted in her parents easing on a lot of their cultural beliefs because of it, and they've had a falling out with certain parts of their family as a result

However, "it's just their culture" is not a horrible argument for what we're seeing here. We have overbearing parents, who were pushed from a young age to always be the best they could be to go places with the dream to get the hell out of India.* Where they had to bust their asses and sacrifice so much in order to even make it to America, and they want to make sure that everything they sacrificed for their children comes to fruition and they can succeed and become better. Where they now have a daughter growing up in an Americanized culture they just don't understand, but they are trying very hard to understand so they can be involved in their daughter's life and interests as much as they can, but still struggling to, while also dealing with their flighty daughter who is a literal teenager lashing out.

Like I'm sure they're going to get into all of that in the show because why not, but I think it's important to take a step back and consider a lot of why they may be acting the way they do before making broad judgments.

*India is a fucking shit show of a country where the government is corrupt as hell, and they had the largest protest in the world recently and nobody in America even reports or comments on it, when they absolutely should be. Read up on it. It's sad, but interesting.

My girlfriend is from an Indian family (the only of their children born in America), and I was telling her some people were upset at the parents in Ms. Marvel and she laughed and said that's tame for most South Asian parents. Just hearing stories from her about other South Asian family members, I'm dying at this weak shit people are upset at. Like it can get a lot worse.

I can get real deep into it, but man, it's not bad and there aren't kids who grew up in that culture that are going to resent their parents like that. In fact, they're probably closer to their parents a lot of times because of how their family culture is too. I don't know that I can really do justice explaining it since I didn't grow up in that culture, but I can just see being a guy on the outside of it right now, but you really need to take a step back and consider that culture before you start flinging stuff like that over these characters.
