Question about Sam (Trick 'r Treat) - he technically made his debut in Season's Greetings in 1996 but he's FAR more well known for the film obviously and pretty much the only reason people even know Season's Greetings is because of the film. Could he be eligible for this year?

It's got the hallmarks of future games with half the budget and tech behind it. Heady sci-fi concepts and a heavily political story punctuate emotionally affective character drama, with call backs to the original game already predicting the series' future web of lore. Events like the fight with Gray Fox or Big Boss pack big punches even in spite of the game's presentation. Also it takes place on Christmas Eve and Christmas games rule.

I got it back in May. Was pretty bad for a week (sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, headache) than cleared up. I think it may have permanently jammed up my hearing (particularly balance) a little bit however.

One of THE best cyberpunk world depictions, hands down. Not only does the game bleed and ooze style, and feature a magnificent voice performance from Rutger Hauer, but the style is always used to fully immerse you in the totally bleak and downtrodden future. Even when you're just talking to tenants through a door, Observer constantly has its hooks in you because each one of its citizens has an interesting and well-fleshed story to tell that compel on both a personal level and service the greater lore at hand. And, when Observer does decide to get more heady and psychological in its themes and storytelling, the game still nails it and stays the course thanks to slick directing, top-notch writing, and a driving central mystery that scares to the core and gnaws at real human emotion even through the technologically-dominated culture that now plagues the planet.

This absolute gem of a stinker has to be mentioned, though I'm not sure I'd say Resident Evil even has a "great" soundtrack. Only played the remake though, and I just don't really remember it at all.

Resident Evil's soundtrack is amazing, both original and remake, but it wouldn't do much I guess if you weren't into dark ambient and the like. Director's Cut soundtrack is a different story, most of it is pretty lame but some of the hallway tracks are still pretty great in my book.

It's fair to prefer horror elements I just think that's not really a big draw of the DMC series so it's a rarity for most people who are into it to be into that.

Yeah I know I'm in the most miniscule minority, it's just basically how I was introduced to the series and it always stuck with me!

I like 1 > 3 and DMC is one of my favorite series. I'm just more of a horror-first guy which is why the atmosphere of DMC1 puts it over the edge for me. I take DMC5 over them all though.
