Alien is one of my favourite movies. Aliens is also pure greatness. I enjoy Prometheus but it is quite flawed.

I can't imagine that working out too well on a real one though.

It would wreck your hand. Arnold had to use a specially modified prop and very nearly broke his fingers when he accidentally tried it on a real model once.

It would work just fine if you changed the lever loop out for an enlarged one for flip-cocking, like they did in the film. The props they used were real guns, converted to fire blanks. They had one with an enlarged lever loop, and one with the standard lever, because the enlarged lever isn't as practical for regular use.

Just thought I would clarify, since you made sound like you can't flip-cock a "real" 1887.

Lol it's pretty amazing what the vagina can do. 9lbs wasn't even our largest, our second was over 10. Give it 5 or 6 weeks to heal (fortunately my wife's did not get mangled since we opted for a natural water birth) and it's as good as new.

Our 4 year old stayed awake and joined us right after he was born. He loved it. He especially loved learning about the placenta and such. Dude is so curious.

This is a little weird.

Anyways congrats. 9lbs is big.

What's weird? We try to normalize things like that as much as possible. The more he understands, the less he fears when he gets older. There is this huge fear of pregnancy, labour and delivery, particularly in North America, and a lot of that comes from a lack of understanding and preparation. Besides, it's pretty awesome my wife can grow an extra (super-)organ for each pregnancy that brings life and nourishment to the baby. A lot of people don't even understand what a placenta is or does.

Our second son was 10lbs 5oz. Again, no tearing, no stitches. One of the benefits of water birthing.

ssj3vegeta posted...
Congrats, was there a doctor present? how safe is that whole underwater at home thing and whats good about it if you don't mind me asking

We had two midwives and a midwife student present. Water birthing is perfectly safe, the baby can breathe underwater as long as the umbilical has not been exposed to air yet. Once that happens, it stops supplying oxygen to the baby.

As far as benefits, off the top of my head it makes for a smoother transition for the baby (as they've been in amniotic fluid during their time in the womb), which results in generally a calmer baby when they're born. Since they continue to get oxygen from the umbilical while in the water, it's not such a big deal if the cord is around their neck. Also, the water acts as a counter-pressure to help the mother not tear during pushing. Like I said, my wife who's 5'4 was able to push a 10lb 5oz and a 9lb 1oz baby out without tearing at all via water birthing.

Home birthing is generally safe as most births don't actually require much in the way of medical interventions. Births at the hospital tend to go that way route though since stuff like oxytocin and epidurals are pushed onto the mothers by hospital staff. If there was any issue, we have a hospital ten minutes down the road with a good NICU.

Judah means "praised" and Andon means "invaluable, priceless, inestimable worth".

He was born peacefully at home in the water after just under 3 hours of active labor and 4 minutes of pushing. I caught him! My first catch lol. Our boys are in love with their newest little brother.

Our 4 year old stayed awake and joined us right after he was born. He loved it. He especially loved learning about the placenta and such. Dude is so curious.

I love Outbreak, never played File 2 though.

The load times suck, though. Particularly in the Outbreak scenario, with all the silly cutscenes. The AI can also be annoying, especially if you don't know how to manage them or understand their different personalities.

For example, you're trying to give an item to a certain partner, but the other one keeps taking it instead. Make sure you say their name first before you perform the 'Give Item' command. Also, they won't come grab the item if they are in a different room than you.

George will turn your herbs into pills if you give them to him, which will have different effects. Unless you need a particular pill, don't give him herbs.

Kevin is a great character to use as a new player. He is the fastest character, with the second-highest HP. His .45 Auto combined with pot shots is extremely powerful and enough to kill the bosses in at least 2 of the scenarios. His kick is also very useful to get past zombies. He's pretty much OP. His only downside is his virus gauge speed is pretty fast.

Stick with the game though. It has great mechanics, and is actually pretty great. I wouldn't try Very Hard difficulty with AI partners though, like the others have said. Hard can be frustrating, but still doable.

EDIT: When you get to The Hive, you might want to just look up the elevator codes. The way to actually figure them out is really obtuse. It's possible but can be annoying your first time. I don't know if it's even possible to figure out the code to access the roof.

I worded that very poorly; I meant that the tasks were complex and had many methods of failure.

Multiplayer peaked with Perfect Dark. No other game has its level of customization.

Not true even if we only take consoles into account. The Timesplitters series has more customization, more modes, and even a level editor.

Timesplitters was done by a lot of the same devs as Goldeneye and PD right? It's a shame what happened to Free Radical.

I believe mostly Goldeneye devs, and not so much the Perfect Dark team.

Perfect Dark predates TS, and still had way more customization (apart from TS's level editor) and much more interesting weaponry. Even the bots can be customized to have specific personalities, something almost no other shooter has done since. I love TimeSplitters, no other console shooter was so fast-paced and chaotic. But Goldeneye and Perfect Dark when unparalleled for their time, as far as console shooters go. Though I could see how someone could prefer TimeSplitters.
