Like apparently he just goes home after work, and practices all these tricks with it like it's a god damn fidget spinner or something. he's "mastered" spin cocking it with his right hand now he's trying to teach himself to do it with his left hand.

this is almost as bad as when he taught himself to twirl revolvers cause of MGS and learned how to do tricks with a buttefly knife. he thinks he's such a bad ass.

It's not that hard, or at least, you don't have to actually be that good to impress normal people.

i just started with toy guns and worked my way up, tbqh. and with the butterfly knife I can only do basic tricks and I started with a comb.

That makes me cringe, and I say that as somebody that occasionally dresses up to shoot SASS matches.

The one thing I hate about it is that it can't actually rack the dummy shells it came with with a spin cock and they always get jammed trying to go in so I just have to do it empty. i don't know if that's just because i'm using a prop airsoft replica or if you need to legit modify an 1887 in real life to feed properly.

*shrug*

It's not like I go out and do it in public. Shits just fun at my house unless someone comes over and asks to see it.

I can tell you that 1887s are pretty prone to malfunctions in general.

I can't imagine that working out too well on a real one though.

It would wreck your hand. Arnold had to use a specially modified prop and very nearly broke his fingers when he accidentally tried it on a real model once.

I think my fingers are just thin enough. The gun is supposed to be the same weight and everything as a real one unless they lied to me, which I guess they could have. It's like 4 or 5 pounds. It hurts my fingers a bit because it kind of squishes them, but other then that they are fine.

Wow! I waltzed into a topic called "My cousin brought up prop 1887 and all he does now is meat-spin." and Im thinking it's some kind of legislature about gay marriage or something and... I had no idea what anyone was saying because I don't know the first think about guns.

Why would you buy a fake gun? Wouldn't it be cooler and more fun to buy and shoot a real one?

A bunch of reasons.

1. The legit 1887's I found were either itallian reproductions that cost over 1000 dollars, or chinese knock offs that have gone up in price recently for reasons I still don't know. Upwards of 600-800.

2. I thought about just getting a lever action rifle, but since I knew I was mostly buying this just to do tricks with and I knew I'd probably be dropping it and fucking it up I decided against this.

3. Literally been wanting to do this shit since I first saw Terminator 2 when I was like 2 or 3 years old. I've spent way more than a normal person even should for this prop, but it's just something I've really REALLY wanted to do.

It's stupid as fuck but it legit gives me a lot of pleasure.

It would work just fine if you changed the lever loop out for an enlarged one for flip-cocking, like they did in the film. The props they used were real guns, converted to fire blanks. They had one with an enlarged lever loop, and one with the standard lever, because the enlarged lever isn't as practical for regular use.

Just thought I would clarify, since you made sound like you can't flip-cock a "real" 1887.
