So if that's the only accessible gas station, and they keep prices the same, people are going to go down there and take all the gas until it's gone, leaving 0 gas for anybody else, which is a much worse scenario than a gas station making more money. Except it doesn't work that way, because they don't care if everyone has a chance to buy some gas. They could just as easily place restrictions at the pump and only allow X amount of gas per vehicle or turn the pumps off to preserve what they have since 20% of the nation's supply has effectively gone offline. Price gouging is the stupidest possible solution to what you're suggesting they are "trying" to do. Which they aren't. --- |
