I definitely agree, but there has been so much Sonic hate recently.

If you can't see the tremendous flaws that make the Adventure games poor games then I don't even know what to say to you.

You can think a game is flawed and still be good. From a personal standpoint I think the Adventure games are more than good, but if I'm being more objective I'd still say the games are okay/good at the very least.

Honestly, I agree with that notion.

Not that Sonic was "awful", but they weren't as great as people made out. The whole idea seemed to be gotta go fast but that seems to directly fuck you over most of the time.

The concept of Sonic was about going fast, but the games are only like that if you're good enough. Hence why most of the games have a focus on time attack, and this game even has a speed run function. So to knock the game for that is pretty silly.

And they didn't just say "awful," they said the games were NEVER good, which is stupid to even say as a hyperbole.

Which Classic Sonic games were they referring to? Sonic 1 through 3, even Sonic CD were considered excellent video games.

It was released after because they wanted to release a full console game and direct sequel first (plus the DS had only just released).

I'm of the mind that Days before 2 would provide a better experience. You don't spoil anything big from KH2 aside from Riku, and the revelation is just as big here as it would have been in 2, and it provides a lot of necessary context for the prologue of KH2. I can't think of any cons to playing it first. It feels like it should have been first (or SE could have wanted it to come first).

Super common, at least for Steam Games. I just plug in my controller then choose the menu option for controller support and choose which button causes the input I want it to.

It's not critically important really. You might be a bit lost at the beginning of 2, and miss a few details throughout the game, but you'll still understand most of the game.

-the introduction of the organization
-the significance of memories in the series (the theme that's pretty much only second to "hearts")
-where Riku/Mickey went after KH1 (as well as redeeming Riku's character)
-you flat out don't see about half of the organization without it
-don't know anything about Namine
-don't know why Sora is in a pod at the beginning of the game
-Castle Oblivion

Of the "non numbered titles" in order of importance, it would be: BBS > CoM > DDD > Days > 0.2 > ReCoded. No idea where Chi falls as we haven't seen much of it referenced in the other games.

Pretty sure I remember seeing your username as the same person who I've seen consistently shitting on FF.

I don't think I've said much of anything about it. I mentioned it in a save that video game style thread and someone got mad I voted against FF7 for the deciding vote, and there was a time I said I'd never actually played a FF game to completion despite putting hours into a few of the ones considered to be the best and not liking anything about them at all.
Those are the only two things that come to mind and those were spaced out over a year or two.
I generally avoid topics related to Final Fantasy because I have nothing to contribute to them considering I don't like them, but in this case I love Chrono Trigger so I chimed in opinion on FF.

Yeah he didn't say anything about it being a play. Seems like a bit of a translation thing when they said 'troupe of actors' when that doesn't seem to be what he was talking about.

It's more comparable to old cartoons like the Looney Tunes. Several characters play roles and foils to each other but the circumstances of that can be extremely different and there's nothing really linking them outside of that.

It's pretty obvious that's how Nintendo treats Mario. They're just characters who play a role. Whatever that role is depends on the game. Just like a Popeye cartoon. It's not meant to be taken seriously.

But that does not mean that they are all a "stage play" per say. It just means Nintendo doesn't give much of a damn about continuity or canonicity when it comes to Mario.

The only time they interact "regularly" is in spin offs. It's usually explained otherwise.
