Because of what I've literally been repeating this entire time. Because they haven't announced anything else coming out this year since the initial announcement (and the two 2018 titles they announced are likely early Q1 titles). Because this Nintendo seems to wait a lot longer before announcing releases, especially big ones. Because it could cannibalize the hype of games coming out this year. And you're still ignoring the fact that a port next year wouldn't be much longer than the Mario Kart port. You also ask would Nintendo "wait" when Nintendo has been waiting for a while now because of the Switch. They waited on doing things on home console for a little over a YEAR in 2016. We all know Mother 3 is coming and yet we still haven't heard from it three years after they teased it. Feels like I'm literally just repeating myself again and again because you're ignoring the points I make.


And a port with new characters, stages, trophies, modes, etc would do just as well as a "sequel" because

1) it's Smash and Smash sells (did Mario Kart Deluxe being a port stop it from selling huge numbers? Nope), and

2) like I've repeated feels like half a dozen times now, Smash 4 is already packed with content, and the additions I mentioned is what most would expect from a sequel of a game anyway. What a majority of people expect from Smash Switch is a LOT more than what Splatoon 2 added in it's supposed "full sequel."

That's because those two games are almost certainly early 2018 (like Q1). And I said games releasing this year, because it wouldn't make sense to ever think they'd release Smash port this year considering that and everything else.

They probably do have them ready for something else, just seemingly not a Smash sequel. Sakurai is supposed to be working on another project right now, so it's likely just that.

It's because Nintendo is spacing their games out a lot more. And like I already said, with Mario Odyssey it would be silly of them to bring out Smash to directly compete with it sales wise and release it within a month of the first full 3D Mario game since Galaxy. That would just cannibalize their sales. If it were 2018 or a year without a big Holiday release you would have a point, but as it stands there are plenty of reasons why it isn't releasing yet.

Again, the only 2018 titles they've revealed have been seemingly very early 2018 titles, and two titles teased due to backlash.

I mean, literally ALL we know of coming this year was announced back at the initial Switch reveal even in January. I think your problem is that you're expecting them to reveal things quick and fast when they are clearly taking their time with this thing. Though as is, we do have three Wii U ports coming this year, so it would be no surprise if even more come next year.

According to Sakurai and information revealed from the dev team, a majority of them were from Namco Bandai. SORA seemingly took a backseat with the exception of Sakurai.

The Mario Kart devs also worked on both ARMS and Deluxe. As far as I know we have no idea what the Smash Bros devs have been up to. They stopped patching the game around a year ago IIRC and I doubt that was what most of the team was working on to that point.

I mean you could say the same for Smash. You have just as much of a basis to say that for Mario Kart as you do for Smash Bros (on the topic of thinking they won't release another for Switch).

And a vast majority of Smash 4 was Namco Bandai doing the development, so we kinda do know what they've been doing. They've been working on their own games since.

Smash 4 lacks options for the casual player playing by themselves. At least Melee and Brawl had some modes that were fun to play alone, but Smash 4 really doesn't. I think if you play with friends or play competitively, it's just as fine of a title as the other two.

idk. I don't think the amount was the problem, it's what it had wasn't all that compelling. Smash 4 had a Classic Mode, All Star Mode, Master and Crazy Hand Tickets, Achievements, and Missions. Five modes (each with multiple difficulties), achievements, and collectibles. That's a shitton of modes and extras for people playing alone. It's just the fact that not many of those modes made much of a lasting impression I guess. That's how I felt at least.

It was overall the same under Iwata too. Biggest exceptions were always Zelda, Smash Bros and some other premature announcements when the consoles were early in their lifespan.

The biggest thing is that I don't know if they really need a Smash remaster now. I don't see the Switch having two Smash games. So if they release Smash Bros 4 again does that mean there won't be a new Smash Bros game at all for Switch? Would they really sacrifice that? Originally I thought they would to get a big game out for the holidays. But that's not happening. I think if it's not releasing in the first half of 2018 then we're getting a sequel.

I remember people thinking Splatoon was just gonna get a remaster but instead it got a sequel so I guess we'll see. Maybe it'll be a sequel in the same engine for example.

Eh, maybe Wii U era Iwata was on the mind when making that, because they did it a LOT more than just with Zelda back then. Smash, Kart, Xenoblade, Yoshi's WW, Mario Maker, Star Fox, etc. They had a lot of games announced a lot earlier than release in the Wii U era. They definitely waited at times, and did quick reveal to release announcements beforehand, but it feels more accentuated now. Took them forever to reveal the Switch, they've been waiting longer for certain Directs, and they only focus on the seemingly immediate releases. Like I said, they only announced Metroid and Pokemon because of backlash (they openly admitted to it for Metroid, and I'm assuming that's why they did what they did for Pokemon).

We know they're holding back several games (such as Rare's big game), so I'm pretty sure they're just doing the same with Smash. Smash for Switch WILL be a new game technically. Most everyone is expecting a slight port with more characters, modes, and stages/trophies or whatever. And I mean, Smash is already at the point where it's not like there's a lot more they can or even should add, so I don't see why it would need to be a full sequel.

And it couldn't release this holiday considering Nintendo's current "one game per month" strategy as I mentioned before. Also people only thought Splatoon 2 was a port because of all of the rumors. Smash "for Switch" only makes sense considering what I said above. It wouldn't be remaster technically, and the Wii U version is already filled to the brim with content.

The comparisons to luxuries was a blatant hyperbole. Not sure how you can't see that. My point was that safe spaces shouldn't exist, especially not in prisons of all places. Feels like a lot of people itt are either "happy" even though this will not and would not have in any way affected them (so wtf), or they misunderstand how affirmative action works. It's not like it's on a daily basis that a hispanic kid with a 2.0 GPA gets accepted over a white kid with a 4.0 and honors. You guys are exaggerating super hard here. Especially when a lot of universities are still sticklers even with AA. The Pharmacy school I applied to wouldn't even look at my ass if I had below a 3.0 GPA or too low of an MCAT score, even though I'm black. And this isn't even one of the top Pharm schools in the country (top 20 iirc). I'd imagine higher ranked colleges would be even tougher. Same with many undergrad schools.

There is a disparity but it's not nearly as big as most of you imply. Especially since in a vast majority of colleges, the acceptance of white males over other races is by FAR and away exceedingly more than that of any other race/gender even with AA. Also up one for the Asian American topic. Gotta love how the people cheering about the loss of AA play the victim card without even looking at the damn facts.

But I almost forgot, this is also the same board that believes white males are the most persecuted race in America. Can't fucking lol enough at that still.

He has the same powerset as superman, except he can shapeshift and read people's minds. He doesn't ever do much of anything in a team cause Superman already has all of Superman's powers, plus he's much more popular. In almost everything he's in (not too sure about the comics) all he ever does is brood at the JL tower or just gets his asskicked. At least Cyborg, boring as he is, has more unique traits to bring to the table.

Yeah, that's not what Manhunter does in the comics at all, so that's no really a good point against him.

And this Cyborg doesn't even seem as interesting as the normal Cyborg. He seems incredibly serious and almost emotionless in every clip we've seen of him. So sounds like a step down from even the animated Manhunter or whatever you were referring to.
