Animals won't "reach human intelligence" or "become smarter" by that linear measure, evolution doesn't work like that. It's not a line with Humans at the far end.

If they're going to survive, they're going to need to outwit us. Sure, having non-human level intelligence was fine for billions of years, but now we're starting to poach to extinction, destroy habitats, and influence climate change. For hundreds of thousands of years, we were harmless to the planet. Big game animals and forest animals are doomed.

Lol no. A lot of breeds have physical ailments from fucked up human influence on breeding, but dogs have also been bred to better co-operate with humans. They can read our body language and interact with us basically on the same level as a toddler. If we keep influencing their breeding like this, there's no telling how intellectually advanced they can get for millennia in the future.

Human impact (poaching, deforestation) and climate change will surely cause an extinction on a massive scale. The animals are going to need more wits to survive. Will they evolve to be smarter?
