In the west you're more likely to grow up poor, which means a higher likelihood of getting a manual labor job, walking everywhere, playing sports instead of video games, eat less in general, etc. etc.

nope

cannabis has no physically addictive properties whatsoever

Anything can be an addiction. All addictions are physical.

What's so hard to understand about that?

it's impossible to understand something that isn't true

Perhaps you should do some research on the brain and its physical components before you talk out of your ass.

Put it this way

I smoke for a year straight every day
Go in vacation and smoke none and I'm completely fine

Why smoke it all if you're just as okay without it as you are with it?

It may not be an addiction for you and your brain structure, but it can be for someone else.

Saying marijuana isn't addicting is simply false. It's not as powerful as other drugs, but the potential is there.

Nah, people are upset because they like their weed and want to live in deniable about how shitty it is for you. Goddell is completely right and people just don't want to hear it. Just because is inherently unsafe doesn't mean he needs to sign off on completely unrelated activities that are unsafe (and illegal in most parts of the U.S.).

We're not talking race or politics, Addy. Do you really need to troll on this too?

The hell? He's just posting his opinions on the subject.

I somewhat agree and disagree with Baddell. They shouldn't make it allowable for players to ingest recreationally, but they should have medical marijuana available for players who choose it over other medications.

I am a pot smoker too, btw. And it is kinda addicting. It's hard to explain.

There is no physical addiction

I smoke too

If someone becomes addicted, it is physical. It may not be as powerful as other drugs, but like I said, anything can be an addiction. All addictions are a physical matter.

You don't see why a lack of empathy for other human beings might help someone to get ahead in modern society? If anything, being a sociopath is a boon.

Evolution is concerned with survival of the species, not the individual. Someone who harms greater society for individual benefit is a net negative to the overall species.

Someone going around shooting up a mall or something is not a boon.

Evolution doesn't have that sort of self-awareness. Evolution just works on the basis of what promotes the survival of that individual. A sociopath might be harmful to humanity as a whole, but their sociopathy might be beneficial to their own survival.

I mean if you're competing for food or women, not being held back by feelings of empathy would actually be beneficial to you. You could stab everyone else in the back and not feel bad. You could rape someone and not feel any remorse.

Come to think of it, I read that humanity was pushed to the brink of extinction during the ice age, and these traits were probably favorable during a time when resources were scarce. Chimpanzees are also known for this kind of behavior, and it's because their environment is harsh and they're in constant competition for resources.

I guess the problem now is that we've survived beyond that point, and are now flourishing. And we have technology and resources that enables sociopaths to do more heinous things.

We need government.

Not necessarily. What we need is food, water, shelter, and a sense of belonging. It's theoretically possible to satisfy all our needs as a human species, and not have governmental control.

As far as surviving as an individual; you are right, we do not need government.

However, as a society, we need some form of government. We are a social creature; and even in primitive tribes we had forms of government.

Why do we need it?

Why weren't gay people phased out early on in human development? I don't know that either but the answer is probably something similar

I think for answers on why homosexuality is still around, we can look at our closest living relatives, the bonobos. They use sex to bond and maintain harmony among the society. There's an abundance of homosexual activity in bonobo societies, and I'm sure the root of why humans do it can at least be traced to how we evolved in tight-knit communities.
