That wouldn't prevent pirating done via hacking the Switch 2 itself to run pirated games. It would only prevent emulating them on other platforms, which usually isn't a huge concern until a bit later into the console's lifespan, by which point PCs would likely have caught up in power anyway.

I pay NZ$35/mo for my cellphone, primarily for the unlimited data, with unlimited calls being a bonus. Receiving calls is free here, not that I use calls in either direction much.

A landline (which on a technical level, would go through the cell towers anyway where I currently am, so no redundancy benefit) would only be $10/mo with unlimited calls to landlines, but I already have everything it offers (with the benefit of portability) from my cellphone. Plus, there's the one off cost of buying a handset for it.

If I didn't have or want a cellphone, sure, it might be worth getting a landline at that price. But there's zero reason to switch or to get both.

Nope. Had one in 2018 - 2020 when I lived in an area with poor cell signal, aside from that haven't had one since the early 00s.

No idea on specs, presumably a 386 or 486 based on the timing, ran DOS, had no mouse. Had three edutainment games, two actual games (Lemmings and Commander Keen 4), and a text editor. Couldn't really play Lemmings due to the lack of a mouse (it had keyboard controls but I didn't know them back then).

Was long gone - no idea where to - by the time I knew enough to be able to talk about specs etc.

They were when I first started visiting the site on my phone, but I'd say there's little difference nowdays.

From the sounds of things, the ray tracing makes it easier (not harder) to do certian things.

Also - the other advantage is that the more powerful hardware is, the less effort needs to be put into optimization. AAA games that push the machine to its limits will still need to optimize; but indie developers can focus on making their game the way they want instead of worrying about how powerful the system is and optimizing to stay within that.

Exactly which UN agency is responsible for aid may be a good question to ask and make adjustments to during peacetime, but for now, it's gonna be a hell of a lot easier to stick with those who are already there.

If I do ever get a PS5 I'll probably get the Pro model, but I don't plan to get one.

It's a somewhat common misunderstanding. It happens here too, where the tax system is not designed to be as complex as humanly possible, and I've seen it from people who are otherwise quite smart. It's all about explaining it right - I find it helps to focus in particular on "the first $X still gets taxed at the low rate" (specifically using the word "first" in particular).

I can say that since I switched to 32 hours, I've been way more productive and enthusiastic about work. And that's despite my pay going down by 20% accordingly (per hour rate is the same as before, but 20% less hours).
