I feel like what's going to happen sooner or later is a rift between the Marines and the World Government as a whole. Fujitora is already working in the interests of the people over the Celestial Dragons more often than not, Kizaru here is teetering precariously close to rethinking his entire life, and Kuzan already split off.

Akainu's shown to be pissed at the elders for pulling the shit they did with Doflamingo. Greenbull is a hothead who'd probably turn on just about anybody who disrespected him hard enough (he and Fujitora have already clashed despite being on the same side)

With all that's happened with Garp, Koby, Cross Guild, etc....I don't think it's likely that the Marines will be the final bosses of the series. There are too many good people in the Marine ranks overall. Even Akainu might have a change of heart under the right circumstances, because he sure doesn't like it when the Gorosei screw around with his reputation.

I think we'll discover what the One Piece is before the final clash with the World Government and Imu. I think it will be Pirate vs. Pirate in the race to find the One Piece, and then it will be World Government vs. Pirates after they discover what the treasure is and learn the truth of what happened during the Void Century. It wouldn't make sense to learn the truth after the World Government has already been dealt with, and the world can't be free if the WG and CD are still reigning over everybody.

So, I think the final confrontation will be Pirates vs World Government, armed with whatever the One Piece is, be it information, a powerful weapon, etc.

Imu, the Gorosei, the God's Knights, and what's left of a fractured Marine Corps will face down Luffy and all the allies he's made throughout the entire series in the war Oda mentioned that will make Marineford look like a joke.

Then, after the world is free, Luffy will be recognized as the Pirate King, as he will be the person who most represents freedom.

They won't win in the sense that they kill everybody, but there's a possibility that they accomplish their objective with regard to shutting down the message. The current victory condition for the Straw Hats is basically "make sure the message goes out and then escape with your life."

This is the point in the mission where the objective "Survive!" shows up on the screen. Ain't no way the crew is ready to face all five unkillable, presumably-immortal and 800+ year old Gorosei.

Can we appreciate how awesome each of the Elders actually looks in their beast form? Oda is hit or miss with character designs throughout the series, imo, but each one of the Elders is a major hit. I can tell he's been cooking them up and refining their concepts for decades now.

I also love that there's no disdain or condemnation from the Elders due to Saturn's inability to wrangle things. No blame shifting, no petty villain squabbles in the heat of the moment. There's a stark difference between the average pirate crew and the World Government.

These five guys know what has to be done and they're gonna do it with full force. That's such a rare thing to see. I expected Saturn to show up, get his ass kicked, then either retreat, die, or become cast out by the others/Imu for "failure"

I did not expect a whole-ass Avengers Assemble moment from the Gorosei like this, and it's incredibly cool. Gives me tons of hype for the showdown that will eventually bring them all down. We're sure not going to see them beaten here. Everybody will be lucky to get out alive at this point.

This is why the board needs you, Vegy. Not the other stuff. We need the One Piece Hype Man to do his duty.

What does it for me is how he's incapable of genuinely smiling. If you look at it he just grimaces while having this dead, soulless look in his eyes. He understands how a human is supposed to look when they're happy but he just can't quite do it.

His thumbnails are edited and brushed up to be a little bit more bizarre and cartoonish, since that's what the algorithm seems to like more than just photos. His "actual" smile is a lot more normal looking.

What they change is how recently he thawed out and how long he was frozen.

Yeah, Cap's story is one that doesn't need to change because he can literally be frozen for any length of time.

One thing is the ongoing continuity of keeping characters around.

Another facet is that a lot of the most popular characters in existence had their biggest glory days when the Comics Code Authority didn't let the heroes kill people, so that became a major narrative element of almost every major comic.

I know it's said that electric tooth brushes are better for cleaning teeth, but they never feel like they are to me. I've tried a few, but always revert back to manual ones.

To be fair, I think social media is much, much worse for people than video games. Games might be addictive, but social media is addictive and it directly impacts a person's feeling of self worth and notions about friendship and communication in general.

Both are cool, but True Lies is cooler imo

They didn't give up on the PvE entirely, that's kind of a misrepresentation of it. What they're giving up on is the massive talent trees they intended to implement into the PvE missions. Apparently those were just too complicated to balance for the full roster, so they scrapped them.

OW2 was only made be because Blizzard promised OW would always have no pay only skins or heroes. OW2 allowed them to break that promise.

It also gave them the excuse to completely annihilate loot boxes in order to skirt anti-gambling regulations in other territories. But they have done paid skins in the past, like with Pink Mercy. It was a charity thing, but the only way to get her was to drop $20

Doesn't change why people dislike it. I spent money on the game, then farmed up a ton of lootboxes, then they nullified all the currency I had saved up (turning it into "legacy coins" or some shit) and completely reworked the reward system into something much, much worse.

The sensation to sneeze sucks, but the relief after doing it is nice. I much prefer sneezing over coughing at any rate.

They were also an infinite reward system that didn't run dry if you played "too much." You always got something for playing, which made each match feel like it progressed your account in some small way.

I like the game for its own sake, sure, but having rewards for time played made me more likely to play it in long binges a few times a year. The battle pass progression system expects me to play it on a daily basis and never gives me currency to buy the things I actually want.

I never stressed about farming loot boxes during events because I had earned plenty of coins to buy the skins I wanted by playing the rest of the year.

Most of the time, yeah. Unless it was just a really, really bad card that didn't mesh with my deck at all. Suboptimal or awkward cards that still had niche usefulness for my play style always made it in.

I put about 5-10 hours into OW2 when it launched and even bought the battle pass.

When I realized how fucking slow the battle pass was I pretty much gave up playing and realized they suckered $20 out of me.

Same for me, but more hours. I played the first 'season' to death. I liked the new setup of 5v5 and really got into some of the new emotes and such. Hanzo eating sushi is such a good way to disrespect while pushing the payload.

But... then the new season started, and I realized all my grinding in the first season went to waste once I finished the main battlepass, and now they expect me to do that much grinding again just to unlock some mediocre, predetermined skins?

Fuck that, give me lootboxes back.

Man, Overwatch used to be fun.

Was my favorite shooter for a long time. The balance changes over the course of years and years slowly eroded my desire to play, then the removal of lootbox grinding with the release of OW2 was the final straw.

I mean, we all see how that turned out. So... yes, absolutely.
