its the one aspect of his game that keeps me from saying hes a "top tier" goalie. Top 10? Ya id say hes like 8th or so. But I can't put him in the top of the top level due to how bad he is at rebound control.

pro tip: dont objectify anybody, even if it's a good business decision. thanks Sadly, doing that will mean "you will go out of business". You want to know why animes like Outlaw Star (a very popular anime in the USA) never got a sequel? Because in japan is sold like ****. Why? Because its not kawaii or moe or whatever the hell people use to describe anime these days. To make an inappropriate and inaccurate analogy, that's like a westerner saying "you think Ethiopians have it bad for food? I was out of food the other day and went to the store and it was shut!" It's probably an under-estimate to say that 90% of all video-games are sexist in men's favour. TV's not even close to that bad. That's the kind of hypothetical I was talking about. If anything it would be more like comparing starving people in the USA (which there are quite a few) to Ethiopians. TV might not be "as bad" as video games because video games are still much more male driven. Women watch more TV than men, but its still something like a 60/40 skew in favor of women. As much as we constantly read about "how female gamers are growing more and more", i really dont see it at the purchasing level. I worked at a Target for two years and a Gamestop for a year, and (im estimating here a tad) id say women made up for about 10% of the sales. -- Pride. Passion. Excellence. uh because one is males idealized versions of themselves, while the other is males idealizing women as objects?
Actually its just as bad. Its telling men that in order to be successful, you have to be a certain look (see, Redfield, Jim Raynor post brood war, most western game male protagonist honestly) Do you mean that in a "this is a problem" sense, or are you seriously saying "if you don't like being objectified in an offensive manner then you shouldn't touch an entire medium". If, say, television objectified men a lot and a woman said "Men, don't like sexism? Don't watch tv" you'd probably be pretty annoyed, no? wait. You DONT think television objectifies men? And its just a hypothetical? How about every commercial ever where its some dumb male and having the intelligent woman tell him why hes wrong (honestly it makes the woman look just as bad if they are a couple or dating, since why the hell would a woman want to date an oaf). People in TV know that women watch more TV then men (its true), so they cater to their audiences. There is a reason why the two most popular new shows this season were pretty much 2 Broke GIRLS and new GIRL. Is it wrong that women tend to have larger breasts and have a lot of eye candy in video games? From a moral perspective, ya it probably is. From an economic perspective? Uh, its what sells. Sorry. There are literally entire channels devoted to showing reruns of old (or really old) shows. I don't think a six hour programming block of old shows is too ridiculous.
it is for a network like CN, which could get a ton better ratings in another spot. If toonami came back but only with its lineup from previous years over and over again, people would stop watching it. I'm pretty sure Nickelodeon's 90s were all that block is already losing some steam. Toonami was so successful in the late 90s through early 00s because they kept getting lots of new animes. -- Pride. I remember when I was looking at TVs like that back in the early-mid 2000s. They were something like $1500, and were not 120hz.
TV prices have definitely dropped. ya i was using a 13 inch tv from the mid 90s for a long time as my gaming tv in my room. I still dislike gaming's direction mostly, but when I finally got my 42 inch tv for $500 2ish years ago....my enjoyment for this generation went up a lot. Actually, it was either FOX or WB that had it on weekday mornings until the Ginyu Force showed up. Everything after that was Toonami, but you could see the first saga(s?) of Dragonball and 50~ episodes of DBZ a few years before. It's why the voices change so much during the Recoome fight (though it was probably redubbed).
Oh your right, i remember now DBZ and Sailor Moon being shown on FOX at like 6 am on weekdays. At least in Pittsburgh it was real early in the morning. Not sure how much of a fanbase it built before toonami, and I know they didn't show more than like 2 seasons worth of episodes. But the point i was trying to make was that you can't keep showing the same shows over and over and expect the programming block to be good. The people in this topic who don't want toonami to ever change and get new shows needs to realize that back in the late 90s to 2002 (when most of us probably feel toonami was at its peak), toonami changed quite a bit, DBZ was really the only show that stayed for a long time. If it came back, showed the same animes over and over, people would lose interest in the block all over again. If toonami came back it would need to air classics (for nostalgia mostly) and new animes (to keep things exciting). Animes that only have 30 episodes, and long running ones too. HD tvs have dropped quite a bit in price over the past 4 or 5 years. I got a 42 inch Panasonic (decent brand id say) 1080p, 120Hz TV for $500, and its probably even cheaper now.

Why did they get rid of toonami to begin with?
because the people who watched toonami in its prime around 1999 to 2002 (aka people born in the mid 80s to early 90s) started to grow up and watch anime on their own time with their own money (or internet). Its ratings got real low due to not grabbing younger generations. Also toonami in its later years (around 04 till it was cancelled) didn't haven any premier shows like a DBZ.
