Mewtwo Strikes Back was always weird for me, because its events clearly tie into the mid-to-late season 1 episodes, but the whole memory wipe thing just seemed like a cop-out to make the events on New Island non-canon.

Does anyone know how they're handling the Zekrom/Reshiram movie having two separate versions? Which is canon? I gotta-gotta-gotta know, I don't have time for these more pointless Pokemon events!
For what it's worth, I once read that the movies aren't considered canon anyway, so this is rather moot. Although for people like me who do like to fit them into the canon ourselves, then this would present a problem I guess (I haven't made it that far yet).

Yeah, here's the kicker. I've made a few good friends here who I regularly keep in contact with on AIM and I know that at least a few of my friends that I knew IRL before Board 8 have at least visited here a few times. Oh and I just remembered that my brother has, so that would mean I'm losing a family member. Yeah, that alone means you couldn't pay me.

317. Benjamin "Coach" Wade (South Pacific, 2nd place)
South Pacific is Coach's worst incarnation by far, and those who disagree are just wrong, end of story. He works so much better when he's inadvertently being a completely over-the-top goofy character than when he's trying so hard to be a strategic mastermind. He started off pretty good, being obviously disliked by his tribe simply because of his reputation, but, unlike Russell, actually working hard to try to change their minds, and ended up becoming the leader of the tribe. Unfortunately, as he did in his previous two season, he found a young, fragile girl and decided that she was going to be his punching bag for the season and make her life miserable until the tribe finally voted her out. Oh, and the whole religion crap totally ruined the season as well. I consider myself a somewhat religious person and I do pray, but I don't make a big f***ing deal about it like he did, and practically force everyone else to join in. Even with these shortcomings, Coach was still in my top 7 or so for the season simply due to how awful the cast was, until the day after the finale. He totally went on a Sophie-bashing streak, sitting around telling everyone how she didn't deserve to win and he played the best game and only lost because Ozzy was bitter. I seem to remember him being a part of the whole "no bitter juries" thing when he voted against Russell, so he's being very hypocritical in this sense, and that really hurts my opinion of him and how he played the game this time.
316. Gregg Carey (Palau, 6th place)
What's there to say about Gregg... He has an interestingly-spelled name. He was in a boring showmance. He got perhaps the least screen time of any alpha male ever to be on the show (and considering he was on the dominant tribe that's even worse). Gregg is the very definition of a casting dud. The guy actually looks like he could be fairly entertaining, but he had such a bland personality in a season that had a lot of over-the-top characters that they just had nowhere to put him. I think I said earlier that the whole season would have been done a favor if Jonathan and Kim had been dropped out of the cast and they started with 18 without the two eliminated right off the bat twist, but Gregg is probably pretty interchangeable with Jonathan in that hypothetical situation.
315. An ethnic minority who was the first jury member of their season 314. An ethnic minority who was an early jury member, but not the first 313. A forgettable young, female early boot 312. A medivac 311. Someone who I really grew a liking to over the course of their season, but have to rank them this low due to their completely abysmal boot episode

Honestly, Tijuana is probably for me the least-memorable person from Pearl Islands, and considering it's my favorite season that's saying a lot. I can honestly remember two things that she did the entire time, and they were from the first and last episodes. In the first episode she got into a b****fight with a Panamanian local over money, which was kind of amusing, but forgettable. Then she got into a fight with Nicole which was really wasn't so much a fight as it was Nicole tried to backstab Tijuana so Tijuana got Nicole voted out. Then in the last episode as a juror she gave a pity vote to Lill, costing Sandra the first perfect game in Survivor history. Other than that I don't remember a single thing she did.
319. Burton Roberts (Pearl Islands, 5th place)
I know some of you are surprised that there are a lot of Pearl islanders showing up already considering how much I love the season, but the few that were good were really good and totally redeemed all the s****y and boring people that the season contained. Anyway Burton has the distinction of being the first person ever voted out more than once in the same season, having returned in the Outcast twist, which was a little weird, because for the first few episodes, even in his original boot episode, he didn't really do much. Yeah, he was kind of a dick, but he took a backseat in that to Shawn, and Jon was camerahogging with his own jerky antics. Everybody else in Survivor history who has returned to the game after being voted out has been billed as a huge character prior to their initial boot. Then Burton returned and he turned into a jerk with a heart of gold, having a few P episodes, and then kinda became a bit of a gamebot for a bit. Then game the big fight with Lill that got him his second boot. So for someone who got as much screen time as he did, he as a person was actually pretty boring. But his big moves helped keep the flow of the season going, and I think it would have been a totally lesser season had the Outcast twist not happened and Shawn and Osten made the merge.
318. Shawna Mitchell (The Amazon, 11th place)
Shawna is adorable, has a bubbly personality, and just seems like she'd be really cool to hang out with in real life. That's what she has going for her. Going against her she has the fact that she kinda threw these all down the toilet about two episodes in by suddenly wanting to quit, and, since her season predated Pearl Islands, didn't know that you actually could, so she asked her tribe to vote her out instead. They didn't because they needed her vote, and she became miserable and kinda exuded a negative aura around camp. Then the swap happens and a few hot young guys show up and magically she's all better. Given her showmance was with Alex, who was just awful, so that takes points away too. But I think she really got screwed by the fact that her body just couldn't hack it in the wild. Out of the three young, hot, cliquey girls of the season, she seemed like she was genuinely the nicest of them and I could see her being really fun on a show where she gets the nourishment she's used to, but she just couldn't hack it in the elements and it brought out the worst in her.

Apparently they did actually dub the Dratini episode, they're just never going to air it. I'd pay to see it.
Honestly, I have a feeling that the Dratini episode will probably get out someday. Maybe as like a 20th anniversary fanservice or something. Honestly, the first season is so far removed from relevancy at this point that the only people who even want to see it now are in their 20s and missed out on it as kids. The Porygon one I think they're unfortunately going to keep a tight lid on.

Another fun fact: the swimsuit episode from that first season actually aired a whopping once. I should know, I was there. It aired on Kids WB in 2000 and they billed it as a lost episode, which is kind of funny in retrospect because it had only been around for a couple of years at that point and it's now been twelve years and it's never re-aired, nor has it been put on any official releases.
Also, according to the American canon in which the Dratini/Tauros episode never aired due to the inclusion of a gun, Ash's herd of Tauros literally happened completely offscreen.
Yep, I remember them billing the "Lost Episode" all those years ago and I sat intently hoping that it would be either the Dratini or Porygon episode, and instead it ended up being the bikini contest episode. Although according to the VA's, 4Kids DID dub the Dratini and Porygon episodes but Kids WB refused to air them.

The Pikachu's Goodbye episode was never even supposed to exist. It was created as a series finale when the Porygon episode almost got the show taken off the air completely, so they could close the story (albeit rather abruptly). This brings up the interesting point that somewhere there may exist an alternate ending where Pikachu doesn't return to Ash.

I loved the game on the N64 (especially its soundtrack, quite possibly my favorite VG soundtrack of all time), and I'd love to play the handheld version. What should I know about differences going in? I know the following:
-Banjo and Conker have been removed, which hurts me nostalgically but not gameplay-wise since I rarely used either of them (though I don't really understand why they couldn't have been included, RARE made the game and they've put Banjo on Nintendo handhelds before even after being bought by Microsoft)
-Taj and Wizpig have been added
What else is there to know that could possibly add to/subtract from my experience on it?

Ash sounded pretty bad, but I know the new actress is hot.
Brock sounded awful
Jessie and Meowth sounded close enough to their originals (even though Meowth would have had to be switched out when his VA died anyway even if they hadn't switched companies)
James didn't sound half bad. Certainly not as good as the other Rockets though
Dawn I had nothing to compare to.
Professor Oak sounded like crap.
Narrator sounded perfect. Did they even change him out?

Two people who placed back-to-back in the game in the same season appear back to back on this list. And for the same reason in that I'm extremely mixed on both of them. Going into the season, I was already mixed on Jim. Anyone who goes into Survivor listing owner of a medical marijuana dispensary as their occupation is going to be either one of two things - a chill, carefree bro, or a delusional douchebag. And Jim just looks like the latter, and did very little on the show to disprove that. From his whole winners and losers speech after the first immunity challenge to relentlessly bullying Cochran after flipping his vote (and don't get me wrong - Jim is the one person that I actually accept being mad at Cochran for flipping because he was the only other Savaii who would not have been safe had they gone to rocks, but his reaction was just way over the top), Jim was just a jerk. But I do respect that he made some pretty decent strategic moves in the game and for that he gets higher than six people in his season but can't make the top 300 overall.
321. Natalie Tenerelli (Redemption Island, 3rd place)
Natalie was pretty useless for most of the season, just latching onto Rob and never looking back. Her 7-episode streak without a confessional is the longest in Survivor history, which is bizarre for a person that made the finals. And she was pretty much second to Ashley in voicing her annoyance of Phillip. But I do have to give her props for being extremely mature and well-spoken for her age, something which Phillip himself confirms was genuine and not just manipulated editing.
320. Had a fight with someone who was not a contestant 319. Was voted out pre-merge but was on the jury 318. The last boot before the merge in their season 317. The first appearance on this list of a multi-time player 316. Last two letters of their first name are the same

I can't think of a better way to start off a tier that contains a lot of unmemorable early boots than with, for me, the least-memorable Survivor contestant of all time. Seriously, it's been a while since I've seen Borneo, but I have seen it quite a few times and I can't remember a single thing that Ramona did other than being sick for a couple days. Honestly she's one of maybe three Survivors that I cannot immediately bring up a mental image of upon seeing her name. I even had to look up the spelling of her four-letter last name. I guess the one interesting thing I have to say in Ramona's writeup is that my top 10 and bottom 6 for Borneo were so cut-and-dry that it is about to experience far and away the largest gap that any season will experience on this list. Seriously, Xu and Slaps (and anyone else who makes guesses), don't even bother guessing Borneo people for a very, very long time.
324. Ibrehem Rahman (Palau, 11th place)
Ibrehem is another person that I don't really remember much about, but I definitely remember more about him than I do Ramona. First, I remember that his performance both in challenges and at camp varied from day to day. Like, one day he'd be really valuable, and the next day he would be useless. Second, I remember that he was on the chopping block for at least two votes before his boot, spared first by Koror giving him immunity (or by Allah according to James), then by James being a nutcase. Third, he is notable in Survivor history for being the only Muslim ever to be on the show.
323. Christine Shields-Markoski (South Pacific, 13th place)
And here we come to somebody that is in this tier because I am very mixed on them. I would like to start out by pointing out her positives - she has a ton of spirit and is very funny, and is also extremely smart and could have done very well in another season. That being said, she really annoyed me on the show. On day 1 she put a target on her own back by calling somebody that was going to be on her tribe and clearly have a dominant position a "temporary player." This immediately made Coach hate her and have the need to get her out, because she would obviously be gunning for him. And then she didn't even try to fit in with the majority alliance at camp, and instead outcast herself even more. And when she was voted out, she tried to make herself look like the victim. The past four seasons have seen some of the best older women casting in Survivor history, but Christine is definitely not among them.
