Traditionally, heel reigns in WWE (with rare exceptions) existed merely to transition the title from one superhero to another.

TO BE COMPLETELY FAIR and give them the benefit of the doubt though, they have Money in the Bank followed 8 days later by Raw 1000. I understand if they're just kinda in a holding pattern to reach that stretch and then pick up momentum to catapult into Summerslam.

If we don't have any real direction by the time Raw 1000 is over though, then I'll worry.

I predicted Brock at Survivor Series but if it's Cena before then at least that's something.

Things are just too stagnant. It's not like TNA where Roode's reign MEANS something. WWE needs a shakeup.

If they were gonna unify the titles it would make much more sense to do it at Night of Champions. Summerslam doesn't need the extra buys.

EDIT: And the reason they aren't setting up a unification match now is because they're trying to push both Punk and Sheamus. No need to derail one of their pushes just for this.

It would probably be more feasible down the line when one of them has lost the title.

I can't find any listing by brand on WWE.com anymore. I think the only reason that "people still have a home show" is because 6 months ago the Brand Split was a lot more firm and we still associate them with what show they were on at that point. They haven't fully cross-pollinated yet, but there seems to be absolutely nothing stopping them from doing so anymore.

A funny thing about the nWo.

According to some old dirtsheets, Nash would have been pushed as the top heel on Raw, with the nWo a force to be reckoned with. Triple H would've ended up turning down the nWo offer, got beaten up, and would have been the top face on Raw going against his old allies.

Well they kinda ended up doing that in reverse in 2003 anyway.
