When I was a kid, easily 12+. Bathroom breaks, but if I was hungry I just ran, grabbed some garbage snacks, and ate while playing.

As an adult, probably no more than 4-5, and thats still pretty rare. A couple times a year I use some PTO to have tiny staycations and catch up on some gaming, but even then I usually have to get chores done or me and my girlfriend will do something together.

Nothing crazy. Like around 12 to 15 hours. At that point Im ready for some tv and a break. Basically an all day session from morning until late evening.

For whats its worth its pretty normal for me on days off to game from late morning until evening meal time or a few hours later and put in an 8 to 10 hour day.

I was working at a game store when Brawl came out. Two or three days before launch a Nintendo rep dropped off a demo of Brawl to be put in our demo Wii for launch night. I noticed it happened to be the full game.

That night I was set to close the store and then open the next morning. So I took it home with me, stayed up all night, unlocked every character, and then took it back to work in the morning. It was glorious.

20ish hours I think? There was a period in my life where every day was wake up, use the bathroom and microwave a meal, then play MGS5 until I was too tired to remember anything, then go back to sleep and repeat the next day.

In my early 20s, I used to play games for like 20 hours straight only getting up to go to the bathroom and going to the kitchen to get food and bring it back so I can eat while gaming. I loved binge gaming netstorm, subspace, tibia, maplestory (beta and early official release), counterstrike 1.6, and not even including single player games. Those games were my jam back in the 2000-2010 era.

Around 16 hours, from when I got home and put Halo 3 in my 360 to when I beat it (solo Heroic).

TBF, I did get up and use the bathroom a couple times, took a fifteen minute break about halfway to make a sandwich. Probably wouldn't have taken so long except my A.I. companions were idiots (when I was in the gunners position, they couldn't drive; when I drove, they couldn't hit anything).

In terms of focusing on the screen for an unbroken period of time, it was probably the Endless Setlist in Rock Band 2. I think that was around 6 hours long, and I did the whole thing with no pauses or breaks because there was an achievement for doing so.

40 hours

The first gaming community I joined consisted of a core group of about 100 - 120 great users. We were all still teenagers or young adults and also had personal contact with each other. From those connections, friendships developed. We even officially founded a registered association and started meeting once a year in a rented location to play games together. People brought their TVs, consoles, handhelds, and games, and we spent an extended weekend together that way.

At the very first of these events - I was 17 - I was so excited that I didn't sleep for two nights. I arrived on Friday evening around 6 p.m. and headed back home on Sunday morning around 10 a.m. Apart from a few breaks for eating, smoking, and bathroom trips, I was practically gaming non-stop.

I still remember the second night. I was having micro-sleeps at times. Four of us were playing GoldenEye in split-screen, and I remember exactly how, half-asleep, I started shooting at walls :D

I think the following night I slept for about 1516 hours lol

Fun fact: Our association still exists and we stil meet once a year for a prolonged weekend. Gaming isn't the only thing we do. These days it's more about grabbing a beer together and talking about the good old times. But we still game, new games as well as retro stuff.

Again, me too! Both those franchises just motivate me to explore every corner. I dont really even know why.

I have been gaming since I got an Atari 2600 at age 6, but I took a gaming hiatus during my law school years. I graduated college, got married, finished law school/passed my first bar exam and welcomed my first child over a three year span, and there just was not much time for gaming!

It was Fallout 3 (and Max Payne) that pulled me back in. I just could not believe how expansive and reactive games had become. I am still in awe of it, frankly.

I have multiple 24 hour game sessions back during maximum addiction to phantasy star online. The original dreamcast version, when version 2 came out, gamecube episode 1 and 2, and then I did it again on the xbox version of episode 1 and 2.

The gamecube version I went absolutely nuts on though......this was back when my household first got DSL broadband, and so I was no longer held back by phone calls knocking me off the internet like dial-up did. My family used to own this real tiny TV that was setup on the kitchen counter. To the opposite side of the counter was the area where my dad's PC with the modem was set up at. What I used to do was hook up my gamecube to that small TV on the counter and then game on that, and at night when everyone else was going to sleep I would cut on the bigger TV in the PC+modem area to watch adult swim at the same time I'm playing the game. My brother bought his own gamecube w/ a PSO copy and came back to crash at the house for awhile, so some nights we'd have both the gamecubes hooked up and would play online with our friend group.

I friggin' loved those days/nights and wish I could do it all over, lol. Met some amazing friends including some life-long friends thanks to gamecube PSO

I also had some pretty lengthy phantasy star universe and cities of heroes sessions back when I was into those games.

I played the hell out of tales of vesperia when that first released on the xbox 360. I had to have played for like 18 hours straight the first day that game came out. I am also sure that I played gears of war 3 for over 24 hours easily when it finally released.....had all my gears of war 3 beta unlocks, so that 4 player campaign, the improved horde mode, the new beast mode, and the vastly improved competitive multiplayer over gears of war 2 means myself, my bro, and all of my friends just played the shit out of this game.

60 hours, Dark Souls 2 release

At some point, you just overcome being sleepy and rather than sleepy, your body just feels like it has weights all over it. It's a scary realization because you start questioning if you can even go to sleep. I remember being at the 48 hour mark and thinking "I'll just sleep next time I get tired". At 60 hours, I just cut it there. That was officially 2 and half days only ever stopping for food and bathroom.

When I went to bed, I remember not even being sleepy, worried if I needed to go to the hospital. I was laying in bed, looking at the clock, but otherwise being worried and closing my eyes. When I next looked at the clock, 6 hours had past and I felt great, meaning I did fall asleep.

6 hours of sleep did worry me, but I felt good enough. The following night I slept for 11 hours. I'm not sure why that happens, but any time I stay up for anything, that's how it goes. First sleep is brief. Second night is the "make-up" night.

The biggest crime here is that I risked this for Dark Souls 2. Granted, at the time, I didn't really know how unsafe that was. Even if I had not had that experience, knowing what I know now from articles online, I would not do that.
