Mostly they stick to asking you not shit on them for actual good things they do like Jeffries speaking for 7 hours to delay passage of a bill and join in on calling them out for actual shit like Schumer working with Republicans to pass an awful budget. And theres also a huge distinction between criticizing them during an election when the fate of the entire nation rests on beating Trump versus now when its perfectly legit to call them out for being out of touch and acting like we can just wait out this administration.

Have you seen the Dems polling numbers? They should be WAY higher than they are right now but people still fucking hate them and I am pretty damn convinced it's because so many of them are absolutely failing to project strength. Is it any wonder that Newsom and AOC are leading the pack in popularity right now? They project strength when they talk. The rest of the party needs to take notes.

As for the rest? Yeah, projecting strenght does matter. Newsom is doing a good job there. So is Pritzker, Beshear, etc. But Dem numbers are bad for a variety of reasons, and people like Klippenstein do contribute to that.

I can't think of a single Dem who is talking about Defund the Police, also the big problem there was Dems let Republicans totally control the narrative. The idea behind Defund the Police is sound, ease the burden on the police by having social workers deal with non-violet mental health calls. Take the funding saved from doing that and put it into those social workers. When you explain it to people most agree that it's a good idea but it felt like the only people bothering to explain it to anybody was people online. The dems need to do better at getting in front of things and trying to control the narrative, Republicans are fucking masters at it, the Dems are so far behind in this.

I do admit that the slogan itself lends itself to being easy for Republicans to control the narrative.
