This hasn't really been true for a while now. I don't dispute that a PS5 is better value up front (mostly because there's very little profit on the hardware) but they're also made of pretty off the shelf parts these days and most of the software runs through APIs. It runs comparably to a similarly speced PC. Even today, the PS5 has to make quite a lot of compromises to maintain healthy framerates.

That doesn't mean it isn't great for its price, but it's pretty far from the days of consoles leaving PCs in the dust.
