Closer to option 2 for me, especially with travel and varied start/end times but mostly during traditional work hours.

Been a stay at home mom for 15 years now.

I could, but I choose to work 4 10 hour days, instead.

Im generally on-site from about 6:45 until about 16:30.

However, there are various times of year where my hours extend beyond that, and also large parts of the year where I dont work at all.

This is all for my main job.

My work is supposed to be 8:30-5, 5 days a week, but it never is. I look back at the days where I worked 40 hours a week or less with great wistfulness.

I work way too much. And my job is even more flexible than that of most lawyers.

A literal 9-5 doesn't exist for most US companies anymore. Companies realized they don't have to pay for lunch breaks, so now we have 8-5

I work 4 x 12 hour shifts (7am-7pm) a week. I don't see the sun for those 4 days.

Start at 8 leave when my work is finished usually in the 4:30-5 range. On weekends im
scheduled the same but have the option to start at 7:30 which I take.

I'm usually in the office between 6:30 and 2:30 because our company doesn't have a problem with us going a straight 8 rather than an 8 plus an hour for lunch (as long as there's coverage to the end of the designated work day, which where I work is over around 3:30 due to how the union operates - I'm not a represented employee myself but our job hinges on the work their people do so when they're done for the day so are we). I get to work early simply because the traffic is workable at that hour.

4:30am - 2:30pm or 4:30pm, depending on whether it's an in-office day. There's a 2hr break in there for driving my kid to school.

On paper it's 9 to 5 but it's WFH and there's just weird "pockets" of work that occur. They can also be at 2am sometimes.

7:30-15:30 here, although I do get some control over my hours. So long as I pull full time hours and attend required meetings, I can work whenever I want.

9:15 to 6 usually. I work for a diamond wholesaler so, with shipping and receiving, a lot of it is just "whenever everything is done" as well as changes in seasonal business.

Somewhere between options 2 and 3, which I think is common today for corporate workers with remote or hybrid status. I tend to start work around 8:30 but when I end is very variable and I often leave early or take a big break for family stuff. I can then make up the work at night or on the weekend if needs be.

Most other people I work with do 8-5 with an hour lunch but the boss is always there at 7 so that's when I start and only take a 30 minute lunch.

I like starting as early as I can so I can get off early.
