never to me, but my gf has had it happen nearly a dozen times. She actually doesnt even care about traffic laws because she feels like she will just be let off every time

Yeah seemed like a decent thing to do. Have seen like some yt videos where they sadly would not do this.

Only once. Got pulled over, was polite and to the point "do you know how fast you were going?" "Yes sir I was going 45, same as the car in front of me" "it's 35" "oh, ok" and then they told me to keep an eye out and be more careful

Other time I got pulled over for less clear reasons - I was a little tired in the morning and hit the rumble strip a few times, I'm pretty sure they were trying to find drunk drivers and were disappointed when I turned out to be sober.

This time rumble strips , you got a ticket?

I never have, but interestingly enough, every single woman Ive ever talked to this about have mentioned getting let off frequently. I dont know too many guys that have, let alone multiple times.

Yeah like they are many times extremely tougher on school zones, wouldnt have if it was one....

It's happened like 4 or 5 times. Warning every time, usually just a verbal.

Many are like that imo , though, have heard many say that observation is not true though. Just going on what I've seen obv.

Yeah. I was going 75 in a 60 around midnight because I was late to work. The cop pulled me over. I told him I was speeding because I was late to work and he let me off with a warning.

Never sped. Death is always and constantly around the corner.

Yes. Just got my driver's license, was very nice about it, and he went to check and noticed I was absolutely right about the speed limit sign being completely unseeable from the direction I came from.

Never. I don't have that kind of privilege lol. I've gotten a ticket every time I've been pulled over. Granted, that's only been 3 tickets in the 20 years that I've had my license.

I've been pulled over once in my life, and I ended up only getting a warning for it. I think it was because I was polite and was also driving in an area I'd never been before (was driving with my girlfriend at the time to a theme park that was a few hours away), had just gotten off the highway, and was still going highway speeds when it turns out that I was now in an area where the limit had dropped by over 20 MPH. That was nearly 15 years ago at this point, too. Time flies.

Aren't most warnings in u.s. put in their system, can see if you have already been given one?

I ran a red light and was going 60 MPH on a 40 and told the cop I did that when he asked me if I know why hes pulling me over. He let me go.

Another time we were at a park drinking and smoking blunts with women. The cop showed up and I told him the booze and weed is mine and he looked shocked that I took the blame and let us go.

Ran a stop sign at a notorious spot. I was honest with the guy and he had more pressing things, so he just let me off with a warning.

I had a cop turn on his lights as if he was about to turn around and come after me only to switch them off again once I slowed down to the speed limit. I guess he didnt want to bother with giving a ticket so late at night if he didnt have to.

Yes. I've been pulled over 5 or so for speeding. I have only got one ticket. The rest were just warnings.

A few. Was once pulled over twice by the same cop in the exact same place lol. Thought for certain I was gonna get ticketed the second time but he let me go with another warning.

That's lucky/nice. Small towns here where the main road is the highway and it drops by 30-40 mph, sometimes you will find deputies posted up as soon as it drops.

Never been pulled over, but one time I was driving on a highway, the speed limit was 100 km/h, but I was probably going something like 120-130. Saw a cop hidden just ahead, so I started slowing down but I was close enough that there was no way they didn't notice, and as I went by they pulled in behind me. Didn't turn their lights on, so I just kept driving normally, while I assume they were running my plates to check if I had any kind of history. Since I didn't, they probably figured just following me like that for a while would scare me into not doing that again, and they turned off after a little while.

The very first time I got pulled over he had me 45 in a 30. He went to his car and came back like 2 minutes later, said a more important call came in and sent me on my way.

Oh yeah; I figured I was going at least a little over so when I saw the lights pop up behind me I thought for sure I was fucked. Then when she told me the speed limit and I realized I was going over a HUGE amount I was like Oh yeah, Im super fucked.

Thank god I got a rare chill cop.

All the time lol. I just flash my badge and I'm like "come on bro >_>" and they're usually like "ahhhhhhhhhhh..... alright, you're cool!" and let me go lol. Probably got out of at least 10 tickets that way.

I've only ever been pulled over 3 times. Never gotten a ticket, but that's reasonable for why I was pulled over.

First, one of my brake lights was out and I didn't realize. Let off with a warning.

Next was a year or so later, the light above the rear license plate went out. Again, a warning.

3rd was strange. I exited the interstate on my way home from work and stopped for gas. A cop pulled out behind me from the gas station, followed me through town, then pulled me over. Claimed that I had ran a stop sign and had been reported speeding through town. Of course I denied it, because he literally was with me the whole time. He gave a breathalyzer test and asked me a bunch of questions. I answered honestly and it really felt like he trying to find something to stick me with. Then he started asking about the stop sign at the interstate exit. I told him I didn't run it, and that I stopped for gas. He was all like "wait, you stopped for gas right off the exit?" And I answered "Yeah, that's literally when you started following me, remember?" He got flustered and went back to his car for like 10 minutes before letting me go, saying I wasn't who they were looking for.

That time was rather annoying, but again, I was let go. I guess you could argue that I was "let off" the first 2 times since I did in fact have broken lights. But it just wasn't something I was aware of.

It happened to me once. He basically just pulled me over to tell me I was driving too fast and then let me go after running my license and insurance.

I got let go with a warning instead of a ticket before. I was doing 11 over the speed limit, but the cop decided to show mercy and let me go with a written warning. He wrote I did 9 over on the warning instead of 11 over.

Those were both a long time ago. I don't really do more than +5 anymore.

73 in a 45, let go with a warning ticket. I was in my work uniform and in my way to work. Probably why I was let go for such blatant speeding. I didn't even know they had official warning tickets. It makes sense though. That way if I get pulled over again, the next officer can see I was already given one warning.

Speeding and passing on the shoulder. Warning. It was a detective that pulled me over. I imagine that's why he let me go. Thinks he's too important for tickets. His car didn't have any marking or the usual extra antennas, spotlights, etc. He just had a cage in the backseat, that I couldn't see through his tinted back windows and a small set of lights in the upper corner of the passenger side of the windshield. I should have paid attention to his plates though. He had the "CA exempt" playes that they use for government vehicles.

I have also avoided a ticket for doing 118. But I didn't get pulled over on this one. He saw me, knew I was going way too fast but couldn't do anything about it. There was a long line of semis in the lane seperating myself and the CHP car. He saw me blast by but I saw him too. As soon as there was a semi blocking his view of me I hit the breaks and set my cruise control for 65. By the time he got around the trucks I was going the speed limit. He rode my ass for awhile. So close that I couldn't see the front half of his hood. I signaled a lane change and moved over. He pulled up beside me. I resisted the urge to look over and wave until he eventually sped up and left.

A couple times in the 24 years I've been driving. I usually get warnings.

One time I had a copy of the first volume of a Civil War history book (Bruce Catton) and the cop looked at the book in my backseat and then looked at me and asked if I was reading it for class, I said no, for fun. Then he immediately let me off with a warning. Pretty sure it was because of the book which seemed odd.

Nope, but I almost got a ticket for running a yellow light on an empty road cause the cop was one of those campus cops that needed to make a quota. It was freezing rain and he said I ran the red light. I told him it was yellow when I went under and braking at such a close distance would cause an accident due to slick roads. I asked for the sergeant on duty.
I explain what happened and let me go in 5 minutes. Good thing he didn't look at my licence cause it expired while waiting for a new one to come in the mail. Maybe the first cop looked it up and saw I'm technically legal but the whole time I was sweating bullets cause I did not want to be stranded downtown at 8 PM in freezing rain.
