The last time I got pulled over the lady cop told me I turned on a red light. I swore I had the right away, though but I wasn't about to argue with her. I gave my license and insurance and she let me go almost instantly.

Cops around my area are looking for bigger fishes to fry for a promotion is what I hear.

Yes. Only time I ever got pulled over. I was driving home on my lunch break and there was no one else on the street. I was going like 52 in a 35mph zone. I saw the cop sitting there, slowed down immediately and he turned on his lights and pulled me over. He asked me why I was going that fast, and I told him that there was no one else on the road for me to judge speed off of and I wasnt looking at my speedometer. He wished me a merry Christmas and told me to pay more attention next time and let me go.

I sped through a red light and a cop on a motorcycle pulled me over. He asked me why I did that and I said because the person in front of me was driving very slow which got me mad and I swerved around him and sped through the light. He told me to not do that again especially at night and let me go.

Once I got stopped because my car was so cold the headlights wouldn't come on and I drove home without them. After keeping me there for 15 minutes he just told me to get my lights working. It was funny when I got home all I had to do was turn my brights on to get the regular lights working again.

73 in a 45, let go with a warning ticket. I was in my work uniform and in my way to work. Probably why I was let go for such blatant speeding. I didn't even know they had official warning tickets. It makes sense though. That way if I get pulled over again, the next officer can see I was already given one warning.

Speeding and passing on the shoulder. Warning. It was a detective that pulled me over. I imagine that's why he let me go. Thinks he's too important for tickets. His car didn't have any marking or the usual extra antennas, spotlights, etc. He just had a cage in the backseat, that I couldn't see through his tinted back windows and a small set of lights in the upper corner of the passenger side of the windshield. I should have paid attention to his plates though. He had the "CA exempt" playes that they use for government vehicles.

I have also avoided a ticket for doing 118. But I didn't get pulled over on this one. He saw me, knew I was going way too fast but couldn't do anything about it. There was a long line of semis in the lane seperating myself and the CHP car. He saw me blast by but I saw him too. As soon as there was a semi blocking his view of me I hit the breaks and set my cruise control for 65. By the time he got around the trucks I was going the speed limit. He rode my ass for awhile. So close that I couldn't see the front half of his hood. I signaled a lane change and moved over. He pulled up beside me. I resisted the urge to look over and wave until he eventually sped up and left.
Really odd post and situation , he visually saw you doing 118, so what if when he caught up to you were doing 65?

Was doing 120-130
Motorcycle tailed me like a T-1000 then pulled away once I dropped to 80.

Not proud of it but appreciate it.

He only saw me for a brief miment between the vehicles. It wasn't enough to get any sort of reliable estimate of my speed, let alone solid enough argument to hold up when I sent a dirt cheap ticket clinic lawyer to argue it for me. Absolutely would have been tossed out, here in CA. He may not have even realized that I was going quite that fast.

this topic just gave me a trauma flashback to the time a cop pulled me over for "running a red light". Asshole said, "Maybe they do that from <state where I'm actually from>, but we don't do that here". This was outside of DC. Everyone and their grandmother guns it if there's a remote possibility the light will still be yellow when their tire crosses into the intersection there, and I definitely had way more time than that.

Yeah, maybe in like fl , or tex. The court judge would side with him with even that little info.

Nope. Only two interactions I've had with police in regards to traffic

First, I 'somehow' did 50 mph from dead stop and only traveling about 30 feet. I don't think a camry with a waning 130hp engine can even pull that off without a hill. I forget how much the ticket was, I want to say 180 or 190 with a threat to take me to jail.

Second, I narrowly avoided a direct head-on/T-bone collision, but still got hit on the left rear by someone going left on a red arrow. They thought I was on drugs at first because of the adreneline surge fading.

Oh the accident did you argue fault, of ticket, before a judge? Threaten you with jail, so you were arguing with him a little though?

This was a very long time ago, about 19 years ago, so no camera or proof beyond the word of a southern police. Also reminded me that when he handed me my license back it slipped and fell onto the floorboard between my legs. He warned me to not do it as he was preparing to draw his sidearm despite me not reaching for it.

After that I kinda forgot to try arguing it, because I was in a "well that could have ended poorly..." and after seeing all the shit since, good grief.

Oh yeah, for the accident, they eventually figured it out and it really helped to have a random witness to save my ass. The other vehicle claimed I was the one running a red light, when it was actually them taking a left red when the light beside them was green for straight.

One time I was really polite and got let off with a warning when I was clearly speeding. He said: Slow down, and the next life you save could be your own. It was kind, but it cracked me and my wife up for some reason (we waited until he left to laugh).

I got a very pricey speeding ticket on the first day of the year 2000. It was such a pain that I vowed to end my lead foot ways right then. I havent been pulled over in 25 years.

Twice actually.

1) I was 19, eating a bacon, egg, & cheese bagel from McD's as I passed an unmarked cruiser about 20+mph over (he was in front of a semi so I didn't see him). He asked if I had any infractions and I was actually going to court the next day for my first ever ticket (35 in 25). He came back with a warning and wished me luck tomorrow. He was older and cut me a break.

2) There's a well known radar trap by my house, but I was in a hurry. Sure enough that was the night he was there and I was going 50 in 35 (non residential). I saw him turn his headlights on and begin following me. He flashed and I pulled over immediately. He almost laughed "you pulled over quickly" and I was like "yeah, I knew you had me". That was a rare time my registration was on the kitchen table since I was doing paperwork. He said I was cooperative and thanked me, giving me a minimal fine for not having my registration instead of a speeding ticket.

Was he like the most aggressive cop you've personally encountered and stuff, he was an older or younger cop though? Pretty bad , way you described it.
