"Oh it's his demon side Urizen not Vergil" he actively chose to separate himself to try to defeat Dante, not even for some noble cause you could try to twist into saying is heroic. And not to mention the DMC3 stuff. Dude's a villain, I love him but he's absolutely not an antihero and he works better for it.
