https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election#Voter_demographics 53% of white women did not want to participate in electing the first female president. This is not trivial - a 7% difference is HUGE. I want to believe that all races are the same, and that they think and act the same. But clearly that's not true if 53% of women voted for Harris, and 46% of white women voted for Harris. Among white people in general, it's 57% Trump and 42% Harris, which suggests that white people are somewhat repelled by Harris for whatever reason. Race should not be a big deal in 2024, but it clearly is. I really don't see why the color of the voter's skin should determine so much which candidate they vote for. --- http://i.imgur.com/5ldCA.gif http://i.imgur.com/tvXx8Bh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nAJVH.png https://i.imgur.com/H5jMv6k.jpg ... Moms for Liberty ruined America. These poor fragile women (note to everyone: I am a middle-aged white woman who voted for Harris) were worried their little darlings might go to school and learn that they're not special snowflakes and that other people matter too. I live in the SF Bay Area, and even around here we have a bunch of whiners who are afraid to let their kids read books because their kids might actually learn something. And who have benefitted from the high tax base but now want to complain that everything costs too much. (Note to them: eat less meat. Downsize your house. Stop driving a gas guzzler. Stop spoiling your kids rotten.) Oh, and besides Moms for Liberty, the NextDoor app also led to the downfall of America. So much crime! So much unfairness! So much whining! I watched an interview a sociologist did with a former MAGA white woman and how she came to vote against her own self interests. A lot of it was, from her point of view, very deeply routed misogyny against other women. She said that she was taught by other women and men around her that women who were successful were likely unlikeable, unloved, and did so through duplicitous means. She honestly truly believed that she did NOT want to be highly educated and a "feminist" as that would make her undesirable and basically only horrible women go that route. She also said that an older, successful couple she was working for (she was a nanny/babysitter/house sitter) literally sat her down and taught her that democrats are wrong, they actively want to take away your rights to make money and be successful, and that "only young ignorant people vote left because they don't understand how the world and the economy works" Since these people treated her very well (she said she was compensated well for her time, they treated her very well as an employee) she saw no reason for them to lie and saw them as her ideal to chase. So she kinda just believed whole-heartedly everything they told her and then when even her friends and family would try to bring a different point of view, all she would hear is her own misogyny and the teachings of this successful couple. She said she was so convinced of being right that anyone who would even bring up things she knew DEEP DOWN were wrong, she just convinced herself she was too ignorant to understand why it was the right thing to do. The only thing that started to make her doubt Trump and MAGA was when multiple people she knew became exceptionally ill during COVID and all the lies that were spread. She said that it literally took family and friends dying because they listened to Trump about COVID before she thought, "Maybe these people don't actually know what they are talking about" It was fascinating. She said that MANY of the "suburban white women" that are MAGA seemed to echo a similar experience to hers, at least from the people she spoke with and worked with directly. --- https://i.imgur.com/GWG5c3r.gif ... You have to understand, the average voter isn't reading anything. They're not actively consuming media designed to inform them. They're not thinking through issues and trying to source information. If you're on CE you're already far more proactive about your media consumption choices. The average voter passively watches 5 minutes of news soundbites and passively responds to facebook memes. I'm just going to throw this out there. Could it be possible that we as humans naturally look to males for leadership? Like instinctually. It's been that way throughout recorded history. In remote tribes that have had little to no contact with the outside world, men are in charge. In the animal kingdom it's usually the male running the group. There are exceptions.
