The Transformers: The Movie (1986)

...this is a good one.

It's one of those movies I watched constantly as a kid, to the point where I can literally do the entire movie from memory, line-for-line. I think Clue and the Ralph Bakshi animated Lord of the Rings film from '78 are the only other two I can say that for.

Other beloved movies from when I was a kid include Tron, Krull, and Highlander. They were some of the first movies I force people to watch when they're watching movies with me, especially if they've never seen them before.

I might put The Last Dragon and Big Trouble in Little China in that list as well.

This is an interesting question and one I've thought about recently when thinking back to movies that I have seen, remember enjoying, but don't remember much of the plot or character development. More often, I think of them as being "comfy movies"

Weathering With You - I got drunk before watching and I essentially couldn't recall much of anything of what happened other than how it made me feel while watching it. Very comfortable and emotionally soothing. I also came into it immediately after watching Belle (Ry to Sobakasu no Hime) for the first time and had a good cry. A film that may actually be my favorite at this time.

Grave of the Fireflies - Speaking of good cries, an odd choice for a comfort movie, but hear me out. It's a film I like to watch every couple years to feel genuine empathy. A very important film.

Billy Madison - My very first "favorite" movie as a kid. It's nostalgic and just a joy to not think about anything else.

Most Ghibli films - They're mostly all special in their own way but hold the same purpose and effect. Nothing of real consequence happens in them, they end abruptly without any sort of epilogue, but they are all wonderful experiences to just live in for two hours. Most have strong portrayals of human interaction and character development, which is one of the main reasons I was so disappointed with Boy and the Heron.

I don't really have any in the sense of "familiar movie that I sit down and watch when I want to feel comfortable," but if we're talking about movies that I've seen dozens of times and still sit down and watch whenever the opportunity arises because they're a good time, Princess Bride is the first one that comes to mind.
