Mine would have to be Resident Evil 6.

Besides games that are like straight garbage, Id say assassins creed 3 and mass effect andromeda were the biggest disappointments in my gaming life

Highest profile disappointment was prob Anthem for me.

Damnation and Shadwen are two others that come to mind. I don't finish every game (far from it)... Usually I just get distracted with another game, or get bored and stop playing. But most of my unfinished games (which number in the hundreds at this point) have some appeal to them, where I would like to revisit them or possibly finish them some day when I get the itch. It's not often that I come across a game that's so bad that I have zero desire to return to it. Damnation and Shadwen are two such games.

I played Andromeda way after it released and had received substantial patches so it wasn't a bad experience for me. Underwhelming, but I still enjoyed the game.

There's no way you're serious. While I personally found re6 to be highly disappointing, there are tons and tons of games that are objectively so much worse than it.

For me the worst game I've ever ever personally played was Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing. Yes I actually played it. My brother's friend burned it for him on CD-ROM, and I picked it up and played it one day, having no idea what it was. After playing it, I looked it up on the internet and was laughing my ass off for about an hour.

Usually I played bad games that I spent money on as a kid just because it was another game that I owned. The worst of that bunch would be Quest for Camelot for Gameboy Color, which I was shocked to see added to Switch Online. It's an obvious Zelda clone, but just plays like absolute garbage.

I don't know if it's the actual worst, but GTA 4 was such a downer. I did not care for how they turned the series and then 5 went even further, but at least 5 had a more interesting game story. 4 was too long and started the trend of sucking out the fun bits and then there was the horrendous driving.

Doki Doki Literature Club

Found it way too tedious to even get to the 'interesting' part.

The original version of Star Raiders on the Atari 800 was the best game of its day, and I was super excited to learn they were making a remastered version, but when it actually came out it was so absolutely awful I literally could not make it past the training mission. It couldn't recognize my Microsoft Sidewinder joystick or my Logitech gamepad, so I had to try to play a space combat game with the keyboard and mouse.

It has a Mostly Negative rating on Steam. "Even Star Raiders II had better gameplay than this travesty."

Its been so long since I've played a bad game I can't even readily think of one. The Dead Space remake is the least fun I've had with a game I finished in recent years and I'd still give that a 5/10 and acknowledge that lots of other people will easily have fun with it.

Maybe Armored Core 4 and For Answer would be closer. Even then, those games are beloved by a certain (weirdly large) number of Armored Core fans but I think they're both extremely boring, at best. Part of my issues with the games being straight up broken (in mostly but not exclusively visual ways) is that they don't emulate totally perfectly but they're not well-made games from a technical standpoint.

I don't know, but the first game I ever played that left me feeling pissed off with how bad it was was the time I rented Chameleon Twist. And I played Superman 64...

I actually had that feeling the first time I played Morrowind. I had gone back to it after Oblivion and was underwhelmed with how archaic the combat system worked and was very confused at why I just couldn't hit anything. I sold my Xbox copy of it.

Then I later had a desire to give it a second try, bought it on PC and it all clicked for me. I think I only played about 30 hours before getting distracted by something else, but I really learned to enjoy it for what it was.

Also, BTB's old mod list helped with that as well.

Dishonorable mention to every Far Cry after 4

None of the games listed are absolutely terrible. Seems to be the disappointment in what was initially anticipated to be the true culprit. Which makes sense.

I've played so much hot garbage, and the crappiest stuff is generally shabbily programmed, unknown indie games like "Moonlight." It's hard to pinpoint the worst of the worst, though.

Course, it's also the lamest answer, to be frank.

Spelunker on the NES
It created the Kusoge (shit game) phenomenon in Japan

I also hated Cybernoid on NES.

Worst as in quality wise I've played is probably Hoshi Wo Miru Hito (In the fan translation patch it is Stargazer). Japanese fans give it the title of "Densetsu no Kusoge" or "The legendary shitty game". It was a Japanese exclusive famicom RPG rushed out by one guy to capitalize on the immense popularity of Dragon Quest. The game is hilariously bad on so many different fronts like...

-Not being able to run away from fights until later in the game...
-...the running away mechanic is dysfunctional is dysfunctional anyway...
-...just to add insult to injury enemies can run away FROM YOU just fine.
-The first fights you run into have a significant chance of being unwinnable.
-The collision detection is only barely functional and it is easy to casually clip through walls.
-In old RPGs you start in the overworld and your first order of business is to find the nearest city you spawn next to and talk to all the people there to get the story. The first city you need to find is invisible. Good luck finding it.
-The debuff system is dysfunctional and many debuffs you get are permanently incurable. Including the very common paralysis spell that common enemies cast which will render one of your own characters PERMANENTLY unusable.
-Equipping weapons makes your characters weaker because enemy defense values are bugged to not mitigate damage from unarmed attacks. You will never find a weapon that offsets the difference. The game is still incredibly hard in spite of a bug that clearly gives the player a massive advantage.
-Refusing to print the game on a cart capable of saving games, which was standard for RPGs at the time. So they opted for a hilariously convoluted password system that uses 131 characters from four different alphabets.
-The ending to the game wasn't finished, so once you get to the end of the game you just auto-lose instantly.

That game is hilarious, and I love it for this reason.

Probably a random Mario-type platformer in my SNES ROM stash that I once ran across. Just abysmal movement and hit detection.

Oh honorable mention goes to Mario fangames from the early 2000's that are a special level of trash that I just can't help but adore.

Rise of the Robots

Probably this Inuyasha fighting game on PS2. It wasn't really bad per se; just thoroughly underwhelming.

I do have DBZ Sagas, but I've seen videos and people talking about its problems and have no desire to actually play it.

That was the first/only time I've played one. Perhaps it was more of a case of people overhyping it than it being such a bad game.

I haven't really played a bad game in a long long time. I've played games I didn't like. But I can't call them bad just because I didn't like them.
And others have called games I like bad. Like Mass Effect Andromeda. Which engaged me so well it was the first one that I did all the side content in. Might be the first time ever I did that in any open world'ish game.

Whichever was the shortest played. That one for 5 minutes comes to mind. It was extremely cheap price wise. :p

I don't know if I remember, Brink is a strong contender, I was really into Mirrors Edge and liked TF2 so when it was announced to be a hybrid of the two I was immediately sold, then it came out and was utter trash in nearly everyway possible.

My joke answer is always Obitus, but honestly it's probably either Bad Rats, Castle of Deceit or Super Black Onyx

I mean I've played both E.T. and Superman 64. If the worst game someone has played is RDR 2 or RE 6, they've led a pretty charmed gaming life lol E.T. was so bad that even as a small child who convinced himself everything he played was fun, I was like "This really sucks"

I've beaten Bubsy 3D..... I don't recommend it

I've played a lot of 2600 games including E.T.

Definitely Apex Legends when my friends were trying to get me into it.

If you can play any other game with any long drawn out reward cycle, where you might have to do something boring to get to another good part, it's not for you.

Deadly Towers or Star Voyager for the nes. Ikari Warriors was terrible as well.

I like Swedish pop as much as the next guy, but the first time you die and lose your weapons more than 10 mins in the game, the rest of it is a constant mess of typing ABBA for more lives lost in seconds as you'll never catch up with the game again. But I think it may be the NES version specifically with that issue.

Ride to Hell: Retribution.

I really tried to like Bayonetta 1 and 2 but I just didn't like it. I also put 20 hours into Xenoblade 2 before I realized how much that game was wasting my time compared to the good parts

I struggle to think of the last truly bad game I played because, naturally, I stop playing and quickly forget the really bad ones but Dark Souls 3 would probably be the worst big name game I've played lately. The first I found kinda middling to begin with and 3 is almost like if you took a redditor's description of the first one and made a game based around your interpretation of that. Honorable mention to Dark Souls 2

This description had me lmaoing. The part about enemies being able to run from you but not vice-versa got me good for some reason, I gotta look into this game haha

Technomancer is another I just thought of. Wouldn't say it was the worst but did not enjoy it and couldn't be bothered to finish it
