That seems to be the case. It's what I thought about as I was watching a playthrough. About how the illusion, or, delusion, is crumbling.

Anyone else notice the mannequins sometimes scream in a woman's voice when you kill them? I think its when the killing blow is a gunshot. I haven't heard it any of the times I melee one to death. It's fucking creepy.

I got In Water. I was aiming for Leave so I'm not sure how the game chooses it. I got In Water in the original too...

In the hospital after the rooftop scene with Pyramid Head, did anyone turn around and look through the door hole? Apparently doing so sends you through the door, as if game thought you were looking from the other side, and soft locks your game. Just a heads up in case they didn't fix that already.

Yeah, I figured out that the prompt of looking through the door can be reached even when you're on the other side unfortunately, and exiting that view automatically puts you on the side of the door you're supposed to be on when looking through it.

If you trigger it before unlocking the door in hydrotherapy you can get softlocked. Hopefully will be something they can patch out, there's a handful of things that don't work properly, mostly achievements. (The under 10 hours achievement has a silly glitch that will trigger no matter what if your playthrough is past 24 hours.)

The way I've always thought of it is that that detail is retroactive. Like depending on what ending you got and therefore how James was played, James was on course to that from the beginning.

Yeah, I went out of my way to not look at the knife, to look at Mary's letter and the handkerchief, to heal to full every time, listen to Mary's full speech at the hallway. The only thing I missed was taking her picture with me into the Employee area. I'm seeing the puzzle solution for the coins might matter but I've got absolutely no idea on that, I picked the man as the issue.

There's gotta be something I'm missing here. I wanted Leave.

I was reading either IGN guide or Gamespot and they speculated that you can't even get In Water if you don't look at the knife from inventory, so what you're saying is interesting. Another thing they speculated was damage. I had over 6000 in the final stats.

Did you play on Hard? I did and I'm wondering if taking more damage on Hard makes In Water more possible. I noticed one of their puzzle solutions on hard said "TBD" so I think they were hunting endings on a lower difficulty.

Watched the Leave cutscene on YouTube and then watched the original. I think the original's choice to read the letter with no music was better. The ambience in the remake kind of muddies how you think you should feel about what you're hearing.

Finally made it to Blue Creek Apartments, boys. Singing "The Krusty Krab Pizza" song really helps me get through these tense sections ngl

The peak of the creepy was hospital for me. I was genuinely unnerved at certain points. Prison wasn't as bad as I remembered it being in the original and hotel is kind of a victory lap

It will feel like it will never end and then the end will come upon you fast. You have maybe 5 hours to go or less i think? Depends on how you play perhaps

Fair enough, opinion may vary also if you've played the original or not. To me hotel is probably the biggest glowup in the sense it was the least memorable part of the original to me

The mansion is on the map. I'll be shocked if it isn't expanded into a DLC the way Separate Ways was.

Made my way through the apartments. Fighting Red Pyramid Thing was quite fun. I tackled it the same way I did 20 years ago. Wasn't expecting him to speed up halfway through.

Apparently James has a harder time aiming against Eddie than any other enemy in the game, the reticule bloom gets much wider. Because, obviously...he's human and James doesn't want to do it.

My thought was he can't steady his arms because he's shivering in the cold. Best fight in the game imo

I almost never play horror games outside of Resident Evil. I don't even like watching horror movies tbh. It's weird. I work in the medical field so I can handle seeing some really gross and gnarly stuff but I don't like seeing it in movies for some reason.

Made it to the Hospital. Maria is already done with my bullshit of smashing every window I encounter.

She has like three lines for breaking windows and I broke every single fucking window so it got a little old

He oddly seems to be easier if you have headphones or a surround sound system. I was able to pinpoint his location based on the sounds of his footsteps and gun clicking.

I'm still stuck on him. I must've played the scene over 200 times now.

Do you have any shotgun or rifle ammo?
He sometimes makes an utterance before shooting at you, if you time your dodge right you should be invincible.

Turn off your flashlight especially after phase 1, he can see it according to IGN

Only got 3 shells plus what ever's already in the room. I
I'll try to dodge more. I read about the flashlight too. I also saw this video where the dude was hiding behind the beef and attacking from the right sight as Eddie has a tendency to stay away from the left.

was hoping for a few more wacky ng+ weapons and some outfits but oh well. maybe free dlc in the future?

It's a trick. You'll lose them.
