As both a Call of Duty fan and Swiftie, Call of Duty is 10x worse.

What even is a star wars fan now. Because I feel like the fan base at large has hated it since episode 1.

I think Swifties have the highest annoying baseline in general, but their ceiling is much, much lower than Star Wars or Call of Duty.

Not sure what Swifties did to deserve this company but its Star Wars.

It hardly has to do with them being fans of star wars though, unfortunately there are just still too many racists around in general. While star wars is so incomprehensibly widespread that there's plenty of overlap with all the worst people.

That's the main problem with star wars fans, there are wayyyy too many, the franchise is too big for its own good. Lucas probably knew this better than anyone, which is why he gave it up.

But the "racist fans" aren't the majority, not even close, yet everyone including Disney wants to act like they're the ones ruining star wars for everyone else. Truthfully we have two very extreme sides to the fanbase constantly fighting with each other, and not even directly. Usually through veiled comments in an echo chamber online. Both sides are terrible, but without a doubt the most vocal. Which leads to all the negativity getting spotlighted left and right.

Meanwhile you have the majority of fans just sitting around minding their business, being relatively normal, decent people who just want a good star wars story. And we're completely ignored.

Anyway yeah I vote for star wars

All I can say is that we must truly be in a new Golden Age of music if Taylor Swift of all people is deemed worthy of this kind of hate.

I liked the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka and not TLJ. TLJ was probably the least safe entry into Disney's Star Wars canon, but it was still very safe overall.

The racist ones are the most vocal and the ones who get the most attention as a result, especially when all news has to be sensationalized to some degree which makes it hard to tell what's real or what's not sometimes. Meanwhile the people most likely to enjoy Disney-era Star Wars content skew towards the types who just consume something and move on with their lives, like MOST PEOPLE. Most data we do have like Cinemascore polling indicates that if you saw the first two movies in the sequel trilogy purely because you recognized the Star Wars brand name, you were nigh-certain to like them. Since that is the primarily level on which the movies were made and marketed, it worked wonders. However, lots of Star Wars fans are very invested in the franchise and its lore, and as such have significantly higher expectations. This is a franchise caught between mainstream expectations and those of its hardcore fanbase, and I don't think it's productive to just write off the latter as being a bunch of bigots.

Conversely though, I think they don't do a good job dissuading those who are otherwise, just because the vast majority of self-proclaimed nerds are male and as such are less likely to know how to talk to or about women respectfully. They're precisely the kinds of people who complain about Vice-Admiral Holdo bossing around Poe Dameron, even though the opposite scenario of an overbearing man bossing around a woman is far more common in both fiction and reality - how is it much different from Metroid: Other M for instance?

Tbh I think the Star Wars fandom overall has more of a sexism problem than a racism one. Why do you think they have loads more of a problem with Daisy Ridley than with Pedro Pascal for instance?

Pedro Pascal's biggest moment in the entire sequel trilogy is saying "Somehow, Palpatine returned!" It's a waste of a role that would be completely ignored if most anyone else played it.

I was more asking why The Mandalorian and Andor didnt get the same kind of anti-SJW backlash compared to the sequel trilogy. Disney didnt stop making Star Wars stuff after the trilogy anyway, although I think the Mandalorian movie will bomb.

I feel like the poll options are at least straightforward and understandable.

Going a layer deeper into culty hits like an undertale is where the "oh boooooy" starts for me maybe, regardless of whether I like the source material or not.

In hindsight I guess TLJ came out in late 2017 when it was still common to run into bigoted manbabies who felt like "white men" got dumped on too much and had real thick skin as a result. Absolutely precious - women and people of color face this kind of marginalization for decades, yet the minute it STARTS to happen to white people and men they lose it. That makes sense.

Swifties because they're the most rabid and crazy. Get a bunch of teenage girls and 30-40 year old women living vicariously through her and you get the crazy being talked about. Stalking, treating everything like it's a soap opera or mystery, etc. Obviously most aren't in this extreme but most is relative when she's bigger than the other two combined these days.

I'm not sure what a star wars fan is anymore, the series has had so many changes that really it seems more like it has anti-fans that haven't let go. would be much easier for them to just stop but studios wouldn't want that since it'd mean loss of revenue, so braadcrumbing things different parts of the fanbase would like it is.

CoD... Fanbase? Legit you're just looking at mostly normal people who like shooters more than a fanbase.
