The green and gray suit is very military-inspired, which again fits the world of the series and Chiefs role in it. I particularly like his tank-like legs.

Do I love this design? No, not really. I would argue that the face of the Xbox is only iconic because his series is so iconic, not because his design is. But! I will say that Master Chiefs design is very effective at conveying his role in the narrative, as well as the tone of the games.

That said, its a bit on the generic side. Its effective, but not all that exciting. I feel like the Doomslayer, who was almost certainly an inspiration for Chief, does this sort of thing a bit better. But then theres that efficiency component: you know what sort of series Master Chief stars in just by looking at him. Thats impressive!

I would argue that with the later Halo titles like Reach or Infinite it becomes more generic but earlier entries are a lot more original and exciting and help define the series rather than follow trends, especially with the first and second entries. Considering some of the rankings this seems like a more biased review. Also this is a better image to use for Chief's armor.

I never understood the fascination with anime.
