I was so tired when I wrote that post that I don't even remember making it. I do like Espimon though! He's cute. I watched the episode where he (and a few others) bodies get messed up thanks to Calmaramon. It's weird how she was ugly af in Frontier but... not ugly in Ghost Game.

She looks better even in the Adventure 2020 reboot than in Frontier lol.

(Also amusingly, both the 2020 Calamaramon and the Ghost Game Calamaramon are far more competent enemies)

How is she in Adventure 2020? In the Ghost Game episode she was kind of fun. In Frontier she annoyed me any time she was on screen but that had more to do with her voice than anything else.

The red eyes episode was so creepy. I cant stand body horror like that. Although I did like that Emma character. She added some depth to Kiyo that is rarely shown.

Yeah that one. It was a good episode, just didn't care much for the eyes opening up from everywhere. Last night I watched the episode with the bug getting reborn out of that guys body. Was more funny than creepy. Down to the last 20 or so episodes!

She always seemed fairly strong. Even in Frontier, she was unstoppable until Zoe digivolved into Zephyrmon. She was just ugly so everyone talked shit about her.

Last night I watched the new Mission Impossible movie. Got home kind of late and was going to relax and watch an episode of Ghost Game... but the power to the entire block went out. I was going to watch two episodes tonight to make up for it but need to study a bit more and then watch an episode before going to bed.

I honestly didn't think Calmaramon was that ugly in Frontier. A bit more... stern looking? But not ugly.

Brand new Japanese doll-themed Digimon line.

Hanimon is basically a more straightforward haniwa-based Digimon. We've had Togemon and Ponchomon, which are clearly based on cactuar, the cactus version of haniwa in Final Fantasy series, but we never have an actual haniwa-based Digimon until now. Which, in retrospect, is kinda a surprise.

Kokeshimon is a neat idea. Though, her being a Champion stage feels kinda weird since she doesn't really look like one lol.

Karakurumon is weird in the sense that apparently we don't have any karakuri-based Digimon until now. I thought we already have one.

Kaguyamon is basically Digimon's take on Celesteela lmao.

Finally got to the episode I was most looking forward to watching, where Kuzuhamon: Miko Mode shows up and it just happened to be the episode where Gammamon mega digivolves. Really good episode! One of my favorites so far. And then Lilithmon shows up right after. Two back to back favorites.

I like the champion and ultimate forms. The mega form is too mega-y. Wish it was more doll like.

Finally seen the mega forms for Gammamon, Angoramon and Jellymon. I really like the mega forms for Gammamom and Angoramon. I cant decide which one of the two is my favorite. Siriusmon reminds me a bit of Beelzemon. Diarbbitmon is like a bunny samurai anime character. Theyre both cool. I dont care much for Jellymons mega form. I dont know what I expected for her mega form but I didnt expect that.

Yeah, Jellymon's Mega is kinda unexpected. She basically grows from a kid into a pre-teen, then into a beautiful woman, but the Mega is fully covered with armor from head to toe lmao

That being said though, I like Amphimon's design.

Is that really not coming to the Switches? Even Xbox has it. I feel like Switch probably has the biggest target audience for it even if there's Pokemon. Digimon is more of a companion piece to Pokemon than a competitor.

And Digimon has released games on Nintendo consoles before, so yeah this time it's strange (lol)

Hopefully they do release a Switch 2 version by next year. Maybe they just weren't ready to port the game to Switch 2.

That's why I didn't play Hacker's Memory after I beat Cyber Sleuth last month. Didn't want to play all 3 Digimon games in one year... would have gotten burned out. I do recommend playing Cyber Sleuth though because it's a great game.

I would prefer for it to be on the Switch because Digimon in handheld mode is a lot of fun. But I remember buying Cyber Sleuth on the Vita, then PS4 and then eventually the Switch. It will be on the Switch eventually but probably in another year or two.

Honestly if they do release it on Switch 2, it will be one of my reasons to finally buy a Switch 2.

I'm looking forwards to Timestranger. Just got done with Clair Obscur and that one definitely scratched the itch for turnbased games.

I've seen a lot of people say that. I'm going to hold off on my pre order until the end to see if it gets a stealth announcement.

I've been really wanting to play that game but I couldn't justify buying a non-Switch game after buying a Switch 2.

I finished Ghost Game! What an ending. I'm satisfied with the final villain being GulusGammamon and felt it was very fitting. I found the ending somewhat hilarious with the world ending in 2,000 years and Quantumon already trying to solve the crisis. it was both endearing and adorable. It's nice getting an ending where all the Digimon stay with their partners and it keeps it open with the possibility of another story being told in the future. Just wish Espimon was given another moment to shine. It felt like with everything going back to "normal" that it's only the beginning and that many stories could be told. I wish it had a season two but looking forward to Digimon BeatBreak in October.

He's, tbh, the only one who has consistently been depicted as an ongoing villain, so for me it's not a surprise. They do need to give us a closure on that.

It's also weird that Digimon in GG universe consider 2000 years as a really fast period of time, since throughout the series there's pretty much no hint to that, the way they act feels like human world time is just normal to them, and the digital world time is also clearly the same as human world time since not much time has passed in human world after the short trip to the digital world in the final arc.

But yeah, that ending is really nice.

Yeah it was a bit weird and now that I think about it, I wish they entered the digital world a few episodes sooner. The digital world was severely underused in this season. They could have played up the chaotic mess a bit more and explained Tailmon and Agumons random appearances a bit better.

I kinda want the costumes. But not 120 euro levels of want.

The only costume that's interesting enough for me is the swimming wear costume, tbh.

I want to watch Ghost Game, but I really didn't like Fusion. Can't stand Shoutmon.

Time Strangers though......it might be my GOTY if it lives up to my expectations.

Haven't seen Fusion but I enjoyed Ghost Game. Lots of body horror though.

Im hoping Time Stranger is good, though it'll have a hard time beating Clair Obscur for me as GotY.

I'm paying for the CCNA exam next pay check but in a few weeks I'm going to pre order the ultimate edition or whatever is the best. I really want to support this game and the outfits look cool.

There's a few episodes (more toward the end) where the body horror grossed me out. But it's a great series. Get past the first few episodes and see how you like it. Gammamon has some of the coolest evolutions.

Since her card has been announced, she's likely coming out in whatever is the name of the next set. I don't pay much attention to the TCG, so don't ask me what's the set name lol.





Anyway, another new Digimon from Liberator has been revealed via the TCG. Nyabootmon, which is also a level 7 in TCG.

Speaking of which, I just now realized Arisa's partner is a Virus type lol. Amusing because of the fairy tale theme.

My favorite Digimon games as a kid were Digimon World Dawn and Dusk. Had tons of fun with that one, and Time Stranger seems to be following irs style more closely than the other new entries in the series. So yeah, looking forward to it.

As for Digimon Fusions / Xros Wars. It's a very hotblooded show. It's unironically a lot like TTGL. I definitely liked it at the time but I'd probably rate it more harshly today. Hunters is just garbage though. Arresterdramon looks cool and has a cool song, that's it.

Once I'm done showing my wife Tamers we'll probably do Ghost Game.

Yeah, the only good thing that ever came out of Hunters is the Tagiru Chikara (means "Seething/Boiling Power") song.

Most people I know that like Xros Wars, just ignore Hunters' existence, and consider Xros Wars ended when Bagramon is finally defeated by X7 Superior Mode.

Heck, in my country, even the TV channel that aired Digimon anime, just straight up skipped airing Hunters lol. After Xros Wars ended, the next Digimon show we got is Appmon.

Hunters is literally made to be a filler show anyway. It was a new season sorta made in a rush because the show that is supposed to take Xros Wars' timeslot is not ready yet, and there is a demand to have something to fill the slot in the meantime. Hence why it has almost no plot - they didn't have time to think that up, so the show is like 95% "monster of the week / catch of the day" episodes.

I bought a few of the new packs of Digimon cards. Eh. Didnt get many good cards. I did look at what cards were being released in the set but I opted to buy some anyway. I am looking forward to the Cyber Sleuth cards that are coming out soon.

I haven't bought Digimon cards in like 20+ years probably, but I'm looking forward to the Cyber Sleuth stuff as well. I didn't actually know the card game got a revival here until this year, and damn was it a good year to get back into Digimon stuff.

I didnt buy them for a long time either until around five years ago I randomly came across them at Target and decided to get back into collecting. Ive always collected Pokmon cards but stopped collecting Digimon for a long time.
