Presentation-wise it's neat, but it's also really clunky to use. Pristimon's evolution happens in ~~the first episode~~, it seems. Not a surprise considering the hot-blooded human partner. I like the character designs, they seem to be angling for a more serialized narrative after the complaints about Ghost Game, but beyond that this episode lays far too many seeds at once. If they follow through on these concepts well I could see this season being great, but right now it's all questions and several of those have easy tropey answers that might not be satisfying. --- She / Her Others don't get to dictate what's normal and what isn't. So fast we didn't get the animation and obligatory evolution theme.~~ The OP and music during the episode was nice, and Tomoro was more enjoyable than expected. It feels good to be watching a new, ongoing Digimon as it's airing for the first time since Frontier for me. There's a lot to unpack that I may have to watch the first episode one more time. The whole e-pulse thing was confusing at first but I may have missed a line or something. I thought it was hilarious when ~~Gekkomon ate Tomoro~~ to save his life. Which in true capitalist fashion means maximizing profit yield by offering a worse and worse product for more and more money. They've recently retooled their subbing pipeline to produce subs that are as bad or worse than amazon and Netflix; which is like. The one thing Crunchyroll still had over their competition. They also apparently bought up anime merchandise shops and then destroyed their logistics chain so now everyone who orders anime merch is getting worse quality products with bad shipping care. It's a whole thing. I was half expecting an evolution at the end when Gekkomon was going dark side, which would've been a twist for me as I don't remember a Digimon getting the "wrong" evolution first. I hope we get some Chiropmon action sometime soon, as I'm doubting that they can't digivolve like Pristimon can, though I guess we have no idea how long Makoto has been doing this. Reina going all tsun for a sec was unexpected. Also I liked the music when they were getting all hyped up before the end of the fight. Took me 11 hours just to get to the title drop lol kinda don't want it to end.
