Only at 30? It can start at anytime, but its based on your body, old injuries and what you did as a teen. Abuse your body with contact sports, you will regret it in the future.

I didnt do sports, but I admit my diet isnt the best, could lose 10-15 pounds to be better. I get body aches from weather changes. Mostly in my back from moving cases of soda and such during my first job, and arthritis in my hands

I'm 36 as of yesterday and I've yet to experience any sort of physical ailments of any kind.

I never smoked, never done illicit drugs, or drink (only at at parties, and even then it's probably just 3 at the most). Still 20/20, and my teeth are still in great shape.

You have to drink lots of water and stay moving. At least that's what's working for me.

My lower back started having some issues within 30, but I was also a dumbass in regards to weightlifting, so I brought that up on myself. At 39 I've encountered minor pains here and there but nothing truly dreadful.

I had to have physical therapy for my back at 30. I played a lot of sports and was very active though. Wasn't stretching enough to compensate for the high intensity.

Make sure you stretch folks.

I do but only started 5 years ago. I had some sciatica issues when I was 45. It lasted for a while then stopped altogether. 2 years ago I had shingles on my back. It effected my whole back. First the neck and middle. A year later lower back. It's really holding me back to making a full recovery from 2 years ago. There is one other factor in that I did farm work for 30 years. Posts, feed, wrestling with calves. It's taken it's toll.

my dad and his dad both had back problems starting in middle age.

i never had issues until after moving into my house in 2011. not sure exactly what i did, but my back was sore for like a week after. ever since then, it's been semi-sensitive to pulls / strains that can be triggered from something as minor as drying my hair with a towel. i just gotta be careful.

Do you have poor posture? Sleep on your side or stomach a lot? Exercise regularly?

Basically your 30s is when you gotta start putting in some effort to take care of yourself, if you at least do something you'll probably be okay. I try to exercise at least every other day and eat decently and my 30s have been fine so far

I'm almost 37 and don't have any real issues. My main problem was using an old chair that didn't support my lower back.

After a new chair and a small stiff pillow it really went away. I also stretch each morning at work.

That's from poor posture cause I have issues with those same muscles. No one ever taught me to sit up straight as a kid so my default is to slouch. Look over your desk setup from an ergonomic perspective. Are your monitors at the correct height? Chair position, how you sit in your chair, how you reach for your mouse/keyboard. Also take a couple minutes(seriously 2-3 minutes) every morning to do some basic stretches. Randomly stand at your side in the bathroom mirror a take a picture of yourself, you'll probably be shocked at how much your slouching. You'll need to be conscious every time you're walking of "am I standing up straight right now?"

Just to warn you, your back will hurt a lot when making these changes cause it's going against your default (bad) habit. You're retraining your body. Might take a couple weeks before the pain will go away.

If you don't work out and take care of yourself, I guess.

One thing I've learned as I get into my late 30 is that it takes longer to recover. I really need to rely on a good nights sleep.

I sprained my back a few months ago at 29, took me weeks to recover back to like 95% give or take. There's a range now for me where my back still hurts a bit if I'm sitting in something uncomfortable.

But it's a lot to do with posture too

late 20s is when you stop being invincible and random things start. These issues are often small and of no concern, but in hindsight they were the first signs. This also completely depends on what you do for work. If you don't do anything requiring physicality, you'll be in your 30s feeling fine.

I have scoliosis which I feel may be causing some issues as I grow older. Also, I got a back injury and nerve damage in a car accident when I was 9. Required physical therapy and such.

So my back has always caused some issues. It has gotten worse as I get older and lazier. It's not quite to the point that I feel I need to seek treatment or anything. Just basically a mild ache most of the time, and some pain if do too much. Occasionally I'll get a catch in it that kind of puts me out of commission for a bit.

I don't think any of that is caused by my age(40), but it is making it easier to agitate existing issues.
