I preferred Action Forms (Chasm, Carnivores, and Cryostasis) over them because the "Alternate Soviet Timeline" is a tired trope. Action Forms at least tries something different.

I never bought any of them, but I got the first two Metro games via Games For Gold.
I didn't play them, though. My nephew played them while I was watching and it kind of took away my desire to play because I'd already seen everything. It's not a moral stance, though - if I saw a game I wanted to play and it was developed in Russia I wouldn't care. I haven't avoided any Russian games because they're Russian, I've avoided them because they don't really interest me.
