Egypt has a border too. Let's be accurate. Anyways, Hamas has rejected another ceasefire offer (6 weeks, 40 Israelis for 700 terrorist exchange), so the Rafah incursion should be starting soon.

Did Hamas give a reason for not accepting it? Yesterday I heard they were happy to have a ceasefire.

That deal that they rejected was before the UNSC resolution that passed yesterday. They've also been clear that they don't want to deal unless it's an immediate and lasting ceasefire which includes an immediate and unconditional release of hostages on both sides. The proposal that was rejected before yesterday was a 6 week pause conditionally based on hostage exchange.

Egypt doesn't decide what goes in and out Gaza, Israel does. That means Israel controls the border. Now can Egypt "control" the border? Sure, if they are willing to risk a war with Israel because they don't want certain things going into Gaza.

Israel and Egypt work together to control the Muslim Brotherhood offshoot "Hamas". No Musliim majority country wants Palestinians in their country (Jordan, SA, Lebanon etc.) and especially not Egypt.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafah_Border_Crossing

>Egypt controls the crossing but imports through the Rafah crossing require Israeli approval

>In October 2023 with the start of the 2023 IsraelHamas war, the crossing was again effectively sealed. Various sources reported that for several weeks, the Egyptian government had refused to allow either Gazans or foreign nationals to exit Gaza via the Rafah crossing,[54][55] despite intensive international efforts to secure a window of time for the Rafah crossing to open to foreigners who want to exit the Strip.[56][57][58] However, the Egyptian government, maintains that it has always kept the Rafah Border Crossing open for humanitarian aid coming in and foreign nationals coming out during the IsraelHamas war, instead blaming four consecutive Israeli air strikes on the Gazan side for keeping the border crossing closed.[59][55] On 21 October, the border opened for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.[60] On 1 November, a limited number of foreign nationals and wounded began being allowed to use the crossing to exit Gaza.

Sorry, what?

You're deliberately misrepresenting statistics about that.

Support for Hamas as a political party has fallen to 34% among Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, a 12-point drop from December 2023, according to a poll released Wednesday by a leading Palestinian research institute.

While the war is eroding Palestinians view of Hamas as the governing body in Gaza, relative support remains high for the militant groups role in the war. Seventy percent of Palestinians said they were satisfied with Hamas war performance, as compared to that of other Palestinian entities, like its political rival Fatah, whose deeply unpopular leader, Mahmoud Abbas, governs the West Bank.

Do you just parrot what you saw on Reddit and think it's true? Jordan unlike the rest of the countries naturalized most of the Palestinian refugees. What is always getting kicked out is not the Palestinian people, but the PLO, who were a militant group at the time. Generally speaking you don't want a militia hell bent on starting a war with another country that you do not want to start in your borders. As for Lebanon and Egypt, each have their own reasons for not wanting Palestinians. Lebanon because they have their own delicate power balance to maintain, and a foreign population would not help, and Egypt because they have overpopulation concerns as it is. Or do you not know about the Ethiopia/Egypt beef that's going on? Egypt cannot take in massive Palestinian refugees.

The important details you're missing is that just because Germany were beyond a doubt bad guys, doesn't mean anyone fighting against them is automatically good guys. War can be, and often is, two bad guys (one of whom very well may be worse than the other, but both still bad) rather than a good guy and a bad guy. Even when one side has a legitimate reason to fight a war, they can still be the bad guys depending on their conduct in it. One of the few exceptions to come to mind is the Russia-Ukraine war, where Ukraine are definitely good guys (at least so far; that would change if they started targeting or disregarding Russian civilians).

If Japan or Germany had won the war, the entire world would have been one big prison (death)/forced labor camp. Since the Allies won, Germany and Japan thrived through loans and development. It's easy to see who "the bad guys are/were". If Hamas were to win this war, all gays in Israel would be murdered, women would be forced into sex slavery, and many millions more would be killed just for being Jews. And that is the difference.

When the alternative is expelling all of the people of Gaza into Egypt as refugees I would say they are more likely to look for a favorable outcome, are raising legitimate border control issues and have just as much stake in the outcome as Israel.

Israel's goal isn't to kill all Palestinians, it's to destroy Hamas. Civilian casualties aren't genocide. Calling it so is disrespectful to the groups who have endured such suffering. I implore you to look up the definition and pay attention to the "intent" part of genocide.
