We have unequal voting rights in 2024 because of GOP voter suppression shit in the states they rule. So voting rights is a particularly strong argument vs. the "equal rights were a done deal in the 80s" tripe.

Even if we restrict the rights under consideration to women's rights, the ERA had just failed to pass, so LOL at that equality being a done deal back then. This too is still a work in progress.

Also I'm going there. Putting Trump in power in 2016 "proves" that people don't need to feel compelled to mend bigoted/predatory ways to make good in society.

Yeah meant to bring it up earlier but a complete and utter lack of standards is a big problem.

Women tend to be at least somewhat picky, which is why men generally have to put in more effort.
