I have been seeing some people who are so anti-porn that they want this to pass specifically so no one can look at porn.

And they don't know it'd also affect them. I worry this will pass and it will change our very way of life on the internet.

I'd actually use a VPN if this went into effect. I'm not giving any fucking website my ID with how prevalent data breaches & identity theft are.

They would probably make using a VPN to dodge it illegal too

Don't be surprised if in the next few years websites start adopting "we don't accept traffic from VPNs" policies. Possibly even by law.

I really don't get what this accomplishes.

You hear all the time these stories where a parent's credit card gets used to spend thousands on Fifa Ultimate Team and stuff like that (and obviously, the idea of stealing a relative's credit card goes back decades before modern gaming but that's just an example). In theory it sounds like it would be even easier to swipe a parent's ID because at least with credit cards you get instant alerts if you're paying attention. The problem and solution always comes back to whether the parents are paying attention or they don't care.

The only way for government alone to accomplish the level of safety they say they want to accomplish is to have cameras inside every room of every building in the country.

Even if it passes, I dont think it can be enforced effectively. As soon as a politician is caught looking at sites he shouldnt, it get blown to hell and back.

Politicians don't visit porn sites. They do, however, frequently have their accounts hacked and the hackers love them some porn.

Goddamn fossils in Congress, as well as Biden who supports this. KOSA will both destroy the internet and make identity theft explode as hackers know that every site will have a digital copy of your ID. SSN, address, birth date, and even your face.
