Capcom Cup 11 will have a 1 million $ grand prize but a smaller prize pool overall if i understood that right

The presentation was kinda weird on that. It sounds like places below 1st revert back to the older prizing level by 1st place is still the million. So maybe something like second place next year gets 50k while the winner gets the million.

that feels kinda...bad? 2nd here got what 300k which yeah isnt a million but would still buy a lot of pagoda eggrolls. dropping down to a lot less than that is kinda augh. youd think theyd have something to buy to support it like in 5 but i guess those 25$ costumes are for the suits to buy more yachts :/

I think 50k is still top class prizing for a fighting game tournament, especially for second place. But, it certainly looks a bit bad compared to 300k.

I watched a bunch of this yesterday, but it was going on too late, so I stopped at Loser's Semis. I kinda forgot about this till Sunday afternoon yesterday, and ended up watching more of the LCQ last weekend than the main event, heh.

Personally, if they have less money to put in, I'd rather they just lowered the top prize, and kept the other ones proportionally higher. Though I guess they really want that "million dollar" headline.
