No, that's just worse than 4pc of either. But 4pc Quantum is so good that it's hard to imagine beating that.

It's not BiS it's just an option. Quantum>Thief>Thief+Watchmaker, but the difference is such that substats will still reign supreme.

Looking over Prydwen updates, looks like we're going to be living in the new cavern since the Pioneer set is BiS for a bunch of DPS units now.

Ive already got an E1 Bronya I dont use. E1 Bailu, E0 Clara and E0 Himeko now. Dunno if Id ever grab the guys, but of them I like Welt the most character wise.

Looks like Relic Scorer may need to adjust for the new fav setup, so I guess I'm doing this the old fashioned way.

Lost the 50/50 to Bailu...who I guess is a new character for me and might be an improvement over Lynx in some scenarios even if I don't want to bother investing any resources into her immediately. Did finally manage to snag the final eidolon for Tingyun though so honestly could have gone a lot worse considering I only did two 10-pulls. (starting from like 40-50 pity but still)

Not sure if I care enough about Black Swan to dump another 70-80 pulls on this banner. She is neat story/personality-wise but I don't like her playstyle much, and Sparkle, Sam, and probably Acheron are all higher priorities. Fortunately I have a ton of pulls saved up so getting all 4 might be possible, but I'll have to think on it.

I did 50 pulls, got 2 Tingyun (E5) and 2 Guinaifen (E1). Didn't get a 5 star or Misha.
I'll save the rest of what I have for Sparkle I think.

I'm not super far into it because I spent all of my play time last night exploring the new hub area and just clicking on everything I could (as you do) but I'm really digging Penacony so far.

I finally reached the Cavern after like 7 hours. My fault for doing literally everything as I got to it/unlocked it lol.

I dont think I get Pure Fiction this time around. My best stuff isnt getting stars for stage 3 or after

What's your roster like? Without Sampo or Black Swan you'll probably need Kafka+Tingyun or Jing Yuan or something. Serval maybe? And build Herta and your new Himeko. Herta doesn't even need crazy investment, mine's level 60 and still 3 starred floor 4. If you're not running dot units, I think the wind shear debuff is the best one.

Kafka is my only DoT even somewhat built. My Tingyun is lv60, but not built. Himeko and Herta have nothing yet for that option.

I'm not interested in Black Swan (not a big fan of the design, nor DOT gameplay in general), but I still managed to clear Pure Fiction yesterday morning. Clara jives really well with the enemies getting faster turns, so she was able to brute force around 30k on the first half, and then Herta/Himeko/Ruan Mei laugh at the second half.

Didn't have any time to play last night, though, so no story yet for me.

I'm guessing I'm not getting this Pure Fiction either with no DoT units built and no desire to build any DoT units unless I do pull for Black Swan. I guess technically I have Serval but eh. Will have to hope that Clara/Himeko/Jingliu/soon-to-be-built Herta is enough.

Finished the new Trailblaze mission. Probably my favorite main story so far and for sure better than the Xianzhou and the Space Station. Still feels like they aren't really giving the story and characters enough time to stew though which I guess is a problem that's probably endemic to the way the entire game is structured. ("problem" in the sense that it relegates the story to the "good but not great" tier)

I actually don't know what to expect going forward though which is refreshing.

Vaguely worded spoilers related to a story leak for future content: It is a bit weird that the one story leak I do have for Penacony hasn't actually happened yet though. Figured that would be a relatively early reveal and it is a bit awkward knowing that thing specifically.

Confirmed character pull opinions from the story

Sparkle was horrible in this in the best way. I actually hated her a bit at first but she rolls right over into cringe in the Black Swan mission, as soon as she unleashed the literal Heath Ledger Joker quotes I realized this bitch was to fail to not pull for.

Acheron of course is just fucking cool, this was never gonna be up for debate. I'm glad her in game model is a lot more distinct from Seele than a lot of the promotional art implied.

Adventurine fucking blows, lol. I mean he's great for the narrative but I ain't pulling this asshole unless he's, like, SUPER fun or something being the first Sub DPS support (alongside Gallagher).

Can I just say, *LITERAL LAST SCENE IN THE PATCH SPOILERS*

The Robin reveal through me for a fucking loop. I almost feel like they knew about the Sam leaks, intentionally built up to it but then stopped that reveal in its tracks, and used the fact that so many people would assume that would be the end of patch reveal that they weren't even thinking about how a comment was made about Robin's voice at the very beginning.

I started this when i just found out it was turn based.

30 minutes in and this story is way better than whatever genshin's starting experience was.

i'm still not through all the new story content yet but the exploration stuff and puzzles/minigames are mostly neat

that one teevee enemy is a pain in the butt on autobattle (unless you just put FX in over Huohuo and then who cares)

I'm still making my way through the new story. I like to take my time exploring things and talking to every NPC so I go slower lol (I just got to the Dream Reverie hotel after the battle with the Meme where Black Swan saves you)

I'm really enjoying the story of this part. There's a good sense of mystery to everything and the presentation is absolutely spot on.

...And just finished it. Huh.
Well that's... not what I expected from the end of the patch. I guess I don't really know where previous stuff really ended but I kind of expected a bigger climax than what we got.

As for character opinions (also, I don't know any spoilers)

Black Swan is pretty neat. I like her more than I thought. I don't usually go for the motherly/older sister types but she's not bad, she's mysterious without being annoying about it.

Aventurine sucks massively. Not in a bad way for the story, as said, but good lord this guy is a douche.

Sparkle is very different from what I expected. I kind of like how sharp tongued she is, but she's a bit too antagonist for my taste and verges on unlikable. She hasn't quite crossed over into that yet, but I dunno. Need to see more of her, still.

Acheron is great. She's suspicious and her red speech fuels all kinds of theories about what might be going on, but just in general she's very fun. Being slightly a dork is big points.

Firefly I absolutely do not in any way believe is really dead. Her death is less believable than Tingyun's. They finished up absolutely nothing about her story despite focusing on it for the vast majority of the story, and then killed her off with a sudden unceremonious scene before moving straight on? Nah, ain't buying it. Besides that story stuff, she's super cute. There's all kinds of speculation I have about her character but it's clear to me she's going to still be central to the plot going forward.

The rest of the characters haven't left much of an impression on me. I am, however, slightly annoyed that they sidelined Himeko again for the story despite ending the last patch with a "I'm coming with you this time, look forward to it!" and she continues to be the least interesting member of the Astral Express despite being the leader of the crew.

Also I hope we get to go to at least a few of the other Dreamscapes in the coming patches. Golden Hour is really cool but Penacony is suppose to have 12 total ones and only seeing one of them so far is a bit disappointing (though not majorly since we do have upcoming patches they can put them in).

As long as it's less awkward than ending on a deer.

Oh and I'm likewise slightly miffed by Sampo in Penacony just being Sparkle in disguise despite being in the trailers and stuff. I was kinda looking forward to finding out how he was more than meets the eye.
