The tactic of scrapping films for tax breaks is predatory and anti-competitive. Its like burning down a building for the insurance money.

I completely agree with this. One of the many tax loopholes that always blew my mind.

I haven't read enough about the tax write off situations with movies to understand what is/isn't or should/shouldn't be exploited, but it really does feel like a studio shouldn't just be able to decide to shelf a film for a tax write off so late in the game.

Can we get all of those completed but unreleased movies and shows to become available while we're at it

Such bullshit that all the hard work involved in creating something can be thrown away for a tax break

I feel like the tax loophole should work the other way around. Instead of having to vault the projects forever, they should have to be made available to everyone for free forever.

Good. Whatever tax loopholes there are involved in this should be removed. They're basically robbing people of time and effort, since they won't have a credit to show for their work.
