With that said though, that's a clubbing outfit if I ever saw one and that's 100% not my scene. So I likely wouldn't want to date her anyway.

No, not okay (in general). And it's not hypocritical, because I think people can do whatever they want, men and women. But I also can choose who to spend my life with. She has every right to wear it, and I have every right to not be with someone who acts like that. I don't act like that either but if I did something that made my wife super uncomfortable, I would listen to her. Typically, we let each do whatever and aren't a jealous couple at all. It is more that that dress just isn't very classy IMO.

I will caveat that there might be some exceptions, like if we were going to some crazy ass club together. We have been to a BDSM club before, for instance.

Edit: adding that I guess I wouldn't want to be with someone who dressed like that often. I would question if we are a match. Specific instances might make sense.

Honestly for a lot of reasons. I will admit that I am a little bit insecure at times.

However, long story short, I will say that if my girlfriend suddenly wanted to wear something so different and wasn't willing to talk out why she suddenly wanted to wear this in public (especially without me there) beyond expressing her sexuality or wanting to look good in public, it'd immediately set off red flags in my head or at least be extremely odd if that makes any sense?

For me, it has nothing to do with how revealing it is because I understand the bikini comment. It is more about the type of woman who typically wears something like that and how they often behave. Maybe it is my own bias from dating someone who was kind of an exhibitionist but it led to a lot of issues. No cheating or anything and I trusted her, but things would get messy when out sometimes. She would be super flirtatious and touchy, but then would flip out if anyone ever touched her. Plus, she flipped out if I was ever flirtatious.

Yes, I know that not all women who would choose to dress like that are the same, but I think it is fair for it to be a red flag. Once again, I will give an exception for certain clubs and such.

I couldn't care less what my partner wants to wear. If she's proud of her body and enjoys showing it off a bit, then more power to her. Other guys can look all they want, but at the end of the night she's coming home with me and that's all that matters. It's only a problem if someone starts getting handsy, and you don't need a wildly revealing outfit to worry about that.

idk if "fine" is the right word, but I feel like if she's looking to appeal to other guys/cheat, she can do so wearing anything else.
