I kinda regret not getting to 100 in Maple Story, cuz I always wanted to hit up some of the hidden street bosses like Pianus

I put off buying Lost Kingdoms 2 because it was pricier than most other games, but then it stopped being readily available and I never got to play it. I also was late to the party for Skies of Arcadia and Cubivore, so I missed out on them. One of these days I'll stop slacking and acquire copies to play, but I still regret not getting them when they were contemporary.

I also regretted buying Mario 3D All Stars almost immediately after it arrived (not that I don't want the games, but I've got an N64, GC, and Wii ready to be hooked up whenever I want and can just play the originals), but I've left it in its packaging in hopes that the ostensibly limited print run helps it gain a bit of value somewhere down the road if I keep it in mint condition. I'm not terribly hopeful of that, but last I checked it was still going for as much as I paid for it, so I should be able to at least recoup my losses.

Lost Kingdoms is that gamecube action card game, right? I remember rather liking it

Yeah, one of From Software's lesser-known games. It wasn't perfect, but it was a pretty good time, and by most accounts I've seen the sequel was better.

Several obscure old games I didn't pick up because they were "too expensive" ($70-$90) that now go for hundreds.

I traded in my Gameboy Color to Gamestop for a copy of Ready to Rumble Boxing for GBA. Not my best move.

Still haven't been able to do 100 Super Jumps in Super Mario RPG. Maybe it'll be easier to pull off in the new game.

In Mass Effect, I regret not distributing my points in a way that'd let me save Wrex.

Maplestory is so much easier to level up in these days and the game is still running, your regret is easily remedied..

Not buying Einhander before it would cost hundreds of dollars...

Sold my copy of Paper Mario TTYD to gamestop for like $20. Sure there's worse investment choices out there but man, it was SUCH a good game, I really should have kept it for sentimentality, especially since it was (accidentally on her part) the best gift my grandmother gave me

I own it and it felt like straight up improvements on the first game, but I'm not sure if I finished it. Probably mostly out of me sucking at finishing games (I stopped FFX when I got the airship, for example)

It's still absolutely worth playing by conventional means. Absolutely neat concept. I think both games even have randomizers now

makes me wish I didn't have a personal hangup about emulation... idk, ever since I turned 20 or so i've been hardline against it, but only for personal reasons cuz, like, i don't care if other people are doing it.

Preordering Mass Effect 3. Also not keeping my old games in better condition and not keeping an eye on my other stuff.

I remember when I was a kid, my parents took us to choose some games to buy.

My brother chose Fire Emblem, because he thought Roy from Melee was in the game. That turned out to be one of the best games on GBA, although we never found Roy.

The game I chose? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003). It was a shitty beat-em-up that I beat in a few hours. So yeah, I can't believe that game was basically next to FE7 on the shelf for the same price. Fuck that game!

The level cap is 300 now iirc, up from 250 when I finally hit 200...

I kind of regret buying Forza Horizon 5. It is a fantastic game, but after a certain number of hours (maybe only 20% through the game) it started crashing all the time and eventually became unplayable.

Did you get it on PC? I've never had an issue with it on console but I have seen PC players mention it before. No clue if it ever got fixed.

Oh nah it was on Xbox One S. Interesting to hear that though, possibly the problem is something to do with memory.

Ah, yeah my wife and I are both on Series X and haven't had any real issues aside from the initial launch nonsense with the servers.

Could've had double Platinums for Resonance of Fate (PS3) and the PS4 remaster. Gave away my PS3 a long time ago, and only realized I had a couple trophies left for the original while playing the remaster. The trophy that kept me from doing it the first time was the one for throwing 1000 grenades since I never really used them during my initial playthrough. However, one NG+ of the remaster while focusing on throwing grenades got me the trophy well before the end and honestly it wasn't that bad.

Outside of that specific example its just not being that diligent on beating the main story of a lot of games. Kind of just got to the finale and just stopped because I always wanted to be prepared as possible for the final boss. Been better about it, but still need to constantly remind myself I don't need the best everything to clear the game.

I used to be so bad about this. Not necessarily trying to be prepared, but trying to get as much side content as I could done before beating it. The problem is that a lot of the side content dragged a bit and I lost interest and stopped playing the game, often mere minutes before the final boss. At one point, I had 14 such games when I forced myself to finish them off before playing anything else. I've been better about it since then.
