The disagreement being had is that mainstream liberals only want a humanitarian pause to allow basic neccessities to be delivered and evacuations to proceed before the attacks resume as normal, because "Hamas has got to go." While young progressives want an outright end to the conflict and serious negotiation to begin.

I don't know, that's the thing with the election still being a year away. If it were this week, I'd have no confidence he'd win, however there's a year to go with Mike Johnson as House Speaker and Trump's trials coupled with his unhinged responses until the actual election.

Arab-Americans and Americans of Arabic descent are definitely justified in their contempt for how he's handling this war, however come election time they'll have to weigh another disappointing U.S. President on supporting Israel vs a dude who wants an even worse Muslim ban than he wanted in 2016 and who would absolutely directly help Netanyahu genocide the Palestinians as POTUS.

They're going to vote however they do.

I do worry about the elections currently happening, however. Especially in NH and VA, where the Dems are hanging on to stopping a red wall of death by 1-3 seats.

Some (thankfully not all, or even most) progressives are purists. Everything is black and white and nuance doesn't exist, and thus you're either 100% in lock step with them on every issue or you're a Nazi. There's no gray area, no middle ground.

What's "immature" or "tankie" about wanting the killing of Gazans to stop? And wanting a ceasefire to stop that? Or criticizing politicians that stand in the way of that, even if they're generally on our "side." That's not not the left turning on someone over wanting a 1 percent higher tax rate. This is an issue of life and death and an ongoing genocide. And a ceasefire is the preferred policy of a clear majority of the American people and the UN. Are they also immature tankies who simply don't understand the need to compromise in favor of genocide?

You simply disagree with that position and don't want Democrats to take flak for their continued support of Israel. Just stick with that. There's nothing immature about criticizing Bernie for opposing a ceasefire if he in fact opposes one.
