They do not care. Any major retaliation is a recruitment tool for Hamas. They will kill and die until Israel leaves (as in, entirely), which it won't, meaning this goes on forever.

Hamas can say that, but the actual situation is that Hamas is in the process of being completely obliterated. We can talk about the IDF's abject disregard for civilian deaths. We can talk about how since there's no post-war plan, a new terrorist group will surely arise to replace Hamas. But I think the destruction of this specific terrorist group is not in doubt.

No, it's plain old asymmetrical urban conflict, except neither side cares about Palestinian civilian casualties. On the IDF side, it's because trying to avoid them has not worked in the past (not tactically, not strategically, and not for PR). On the Hamas side, Palestinian civilian casualties are a core element of their long-term strategy.

The Israeli Defense Force is because of US foreign policy and funding. By your logic Hamas should be attacking targets in America. I am most totally not in favor of such a path.

My logic is that Hamas does not share my desire and priority for peace and prosperity in Gaza and The West Bank. I do not not think Hamas is worse than the current ruling coalition of Israel. I have no faith in either body.

At this point I believe Hamas wants its Islamic Palestinian State and does not give a crap if the current residents of the land are all dead. People will come. Or more more likely people will be discarded there. An Islamic Palestinian State will be a destination for deported people.

You can think Israel is evil but I feel like if you think that hamas isnt worse than you are blinded by propaganda. Theres a reason people are suspicious of antisemitism. Most didnt argue that America was worse than the Al Qaeda

I wondered why Israel does not have a peace movement. Now I believe that Israel has a peace movement but drags its feet on the inevitable need to protect their freedom of speech.

Just wondering. Did Hamas count on this attitude when attacking a music fest heavily attended by people in the peace movement? Like the powers that be in Israel are this predictable.
