Meanwhile, I broadly prefer the original Live a Live OST to the remixed one. Let's see what we got! Thunderings of the Merciless is basically Thunderings of the Heartless which basically makes it a Kingdom Hearts track which makes this Yoko-on-Yoko violence. Sorry, but that's just logic. Megalomania has tremendous art. As for the song itself, it mostly keeps the original melody, but adds some interesting alternative verses. That said, the main melody feels a little much in this version. Like I wish it had been less prominent for some of the verses. I refuse to believe that's actual German and not fake German. You cannot convince me otherwise. My German ancestors could come down from heaven and tell me they got it right and I would call them liars. Fischl is cool. This song does not do anything for the majority of its runtime. I don't understand it. We finally get the guitar around 2:40 and that's when it gets good but my feelings on the piece were largely shaped by those first few minutes. The ending is also a big ol' nothingburger. "Barf" feels like an uninspired remix of a SNES track. On the bright side, there's worse instruments to do your 1:1 arrangement with than a saxomophone. Oh there is a bit of a guitar here, cool. This is getting pretty solid. It also took a while to get going but I wasn't bored through the beginning segments so that's a plus. Irresistable Force has a much better slow start than Germenschland. At the same time, it never fully resolves. I expect something in my big buildup songs! Iwata Akira really likes saxomophones. Which, again, respect. Also respect JP ordering for the names! though somehow Yoko Shimomura actually sounds more right to me, wtf brain you speak japanese what is wrong with you. Honestly you could copy/paste my thoughts on Psycholand here and they'd still apply, except we don't get anything that equals the introduction of the guitar and the shift to something more creative that we got in Pyscho. 0/3 sumeru makes me a sad wolf. --- Nonsense. I think I like the original MM more than the remaster, but nevertheless it is a banging effort for a timeless melody. I think I have a choice here. Mittsommer caught me with the acoustic solo bit, it's pretty nice and attractive specially towards the end, good job. Psycho is amazing though!! Perfect remaster for this song really, they just needed to give it that upbeat flair and they sure got it amazing. Don't get me started in those solos either. It will take a lot of effort to vote against this. This song builds pretty well and continues being epic throughout, nice job again Genshin. Ooooh, some good sax on here. It's not my ideal vision, but it keeps a good pace, yeah it's good. Hard choice. Let's go with Irresistible, then. Pretty good day, probably the best set of 6 so far. Both worthy contenders. skulltrumpets 11/01/23 2:51:26 PM #31:	Thunderings of the Merciless has a good menace to it. Nice rhythm work throughout. I love the use of EDM mixed in with traditional Japanese music. Dude I fucking love Undertale. Jokes aside, I feel like the original hits harder. Maybe I'm just really attached to it. Here we have a nice build up with sinister baroque strings into a little flamenco flourish that lasts way too short. Like wtf don't tease me like this! I am lost a little when it switches to something that is clearly riffing off a famous piece of classical music I can't quite place the name of ... but with e guitars. Ok but really when is that flamenco coming back? This one's got some nice saxophone vibes going on. Cheesy, but fun. Rhythm to this one is stellar too. I know this feels redundant, but its something I tend to focus on. The release in the latter half of the song is especially nice. Those badums badums chefs kiss. Dude who let this saxophonist in. He just won't leave!!!!!! Probably the thumbnail tricking me into this mindset, but this feels very "fighting sports training montage" like I can just picture Doc hype up Little Mac to these tunes. Also really really fun. lMaO YouTube suggested I listen to Punch Out music after this. Close third match ... Did not expect to vote against Genshin twice but here we are.
