I've seen topics before about songs that you thought were more recent, but I haven't seen any of those Mandela effect "Hey, I definitely heard that song years before it came out!" type topics.
Sting - "Brand New Day" Came out in 1999 and I really feel like I heard that in the early 90s. Cascada - "Everytime We Touch" is from 2005. I was already a sophomore in high school and I swear I heard it in middle school or even late elementary. Coldplay - "Viva La Vida" is from 2008. I was already out of high school and that doesn't make sense. I thought I was hearing this around the same time "Clocks" was out. So I mean, there's nothing there like "I thought this was 20 years older than it actually is" but still kinda messes with me a bit. --- darkx Games beaten in 2023 - 7; Most recent - Professor Layton and the Curious Village ... The one time I felt this, it turned out the song was as old as I thought.
The song Blue Monday, a cover came out around 1999, but I was like "this is an 80's song" Turns out it was a cover of a New Order song and I couldn't find the original in my Joel Witburn book of hits because a. non appearing title and b. only a hit in Europe. --- Don't mess with a Bunny! ... Cascada is the same way for me, the first time I heard it (I can actually remember where I was) was around the time it came out, but even then it felt like an older song to me

I just found out in the past year that this song is NOT from the 70's/60's like I always assumed, and is actually from the late 80's and only became popular during the Gulf War.

I thought Cage the Elephant's Ain't No Rest for the Wicked was a cover of a song from the 70's for some reason if that counts.
