Rules:
  1. Rate each character on a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest. Anything above 10 gets rounded down to a 10, and anything below a 1 gets rounded up to a 1.
  2. Anything beyond the ten's place will be rounded accordingly: .04 or lower gets rounded down to .0 and .05 or higher gets rounded up to .1
  3. You don't have to rate every character. You can skip any that you don't know or don't feel like rating.
  4. "Character" is defined loosely, but priority will be given to playable characters and major villains. Depending on participation/demand, this may be expanded.
  5. If you miss a topic or topic(s) you can still rate characters from previous topics. Just please try to keep them in the order I have them in the spreadsheet. It makes my life a lot easier.
  6. Feel free to nominate characters you'd like to see done next. There's no guarantee they'll be next, but they might receive higher priority.
  7. Please make it clear which characters you are giving each rating.


It's blue mage day! Also Q day, if Strago was named Qtrago. Which if he was 8 final fantasy's later would be a real possibility!

Quistis could be an all-timer if she didn't drop out of the story so early. Though she's not the first and not the last to fall prey to this.

Really disappointing in pretty much all regards. I like her role in the plot early on and she's completely marginalized. Her blue magic exists in a combat system where it doesn't feel needed as a Swiss army knife kinda way that Blue Magic should be-- gating Blue Magic behind limit breaks is so weird. She just feels super unnecessary and I wish I liked her more because she's a whip user and a blue mage that looks like a sexy librarian this should be hard to screw up

Quistis... I used to like a lot. But her power imbalance with Squall and her ordering him to go to makeout point (even if she didn't make a move on him) makes me like her a lot less. Especially with how clear it is he's not into her by that point. She also disappears from the plot like most of the rest of the cast. Sure she's 'hot teacher' but she's also pretty inappropriate with Squall. Also felt that her being a teacher was kind of contrived. But that's more on Cid than Quistis. Still, she has a few good moments that pushes her above Irvine for me.

Quina... is comic relief who is pretty one note and is barely (if at all?) relevant to the plot. Quina has some good gameplay, but that only takes you so far for me. Quina can make me laugh occasionally, but usually it's other characters reactions to them, rather than themselves.

Strago is fine. Not a great character, doesn't stand out in a large cast. But he has a couple of moments, and him joining the cult of Kefka is pretty funny.

when i look at these characters i really wish more games got the ff7r treatment. quistis really suffers from being yeeted out of the plot and quina really suffers from optional character disease. im probably overrating quina a bit but they make me laugh with their antics oh well.
