It's war. Civilians die, unfortunately.
Collateral damage is bad, but still no where near on the same level as actively hunting down babies to capture and murder. I don't know why that's a controversial take on here.
Hamas decided to escalate this conflict far beyond whatever prior "norms" there were (which yes, included civilians on both sides dying, but nowhere near this rate), because they'd gladly sacrifice their own people if it allows them to kill more Jews.

Yes, I'm aware of how some deplorable people justify civilian deaths. It's war after all so we just have to expect Israel to ignore international law. Fuck the civilians who had nothing to do with the attacks right? Just acceptable collateral damage. Fuck the hospitals, fuck the red cross too right?

At what point do you actually say "Whoa there Netanyahu, maybe ease up on the war crimes", once he's done a genocide? Before then? Ever?

Fact is that we have rules of engagement and I get that Hamas doesn't follow them but all Israel will accomplish by violating them as well is create more extremists. Too often people try to act like there's a good guy in this conflict but there isn't, there's just 2 bad guys with a bunch of innocent people caught in the cross fire.

Shani Louk is one of the hostages in a Gaza hospital. It is heartbreaking she will likely be killed. Her story just really stood out and struck a chord with me for some reason. 21 and had her whole life ahead of her. :'(

West Bank and East Jerusalem death toll rises to 36, Palestinian officials say

At least 36 people have died, and more than 650 have been injured, in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since Saturday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah.
The deaths occurred in clashes from Israeli aggression, the ministry said. The Ministry of Health also confirmed that many of those killed sustained injuries from bullets.
CNN previously reported violence has risen in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since Israel declared its war on Hamas and continued to strike Gaza since Saturday.

I imagine this won't end until Israel controls Gaza again and removes Hamas from power, which is an understandable aim considering Hamas's recent atrocities.

However, considering how densely packed Gaza is, (likely high) civilian casualties are pretty much inevitable, as is the case with most wars. Such a sad situation.

Also, as others have said, I imagine efforts to rescue hostages are what is preventing the inevitable ground takeover. Once such efforts almost certainly (mostly) fail, I imagine nothing else will prevent it from happening.

Lastly, the wildcard in the mix is what role other surrounding countries will play in what is to come, mainly thinking of Lebanon and Syria. Not sure what will happen there.

How many will flee, I wonder? Even if those who don't support Hamas flee, 58% of the country does still support Hamas. That's over a million people who may resist. Then there are the people who may not support Hamas but hate what Israel is doing and resist out of defiance and/or self-preservation.

I just want to point out that your post says Palestinians and the tweet says UN personnel. It's possible the people living there aren't being warned at all. Even if they are being warned, they have no electricity and thus no way to receive the warning sans airdropped leaflets.

There comes a certain point where civilians are in fact responsible for their government.

The Israeli government's intent is absolutely mass genocide at this point. They know it isn't physically possible to evacuate within that time. and they're making it their victims' fault for not complying soon enough. It's just like the officer who pulls the trigger a split-second after giving a command.

This is very foolish. Hamas is a literal terrorist group, and they instigated this conflict, yet actions like this are going to turn people against Israel. Unfortunately, nobody's going to say, "Fuck Israel's government." They're going to say, "Fuck Israel," and make no distinction between the government and the people.

That's one of the failings of humanity. Everyone knows their own government is bullshit, yet they assume that people in other countries are in unanimous support of what their government is doing.

I feel bad for the citizens of both Israel and Palestine.

The only way to break Germany in WW 2 was to break the pepole, ditto with Japan...I am sorry for those who did not want to be part of this but like with the Axis...sometimes there is no good options.
