Trump won't try to have his case removed to federal court. He didn't have much of a chance at succeeding any way, but he would have had to actually testify under oath in order to have a chance. Mark Meadows testified under oath and failed, which likely gave prosecutors more evidence to use during the trial. Jeffrey Clark didn't even show up for his removal hearing and the judge wasn't happy about that. Clark tried to submit a sworn statement instead and the judge refused to accept it. Then the judge denied Clark's request to move his case to federal court.

The Cheese and Kraken trial is still set for October 23rd and will be live streamed.
  • Kenneth Chesebro filed a motion for a speedy trial.
  • Fulton County DA Fani Willis has been ready to go since late July and agreed with Chesebro's motion, and suggested an October 23rd trial date.
  • The judge agreed to the October 23rd trial date.
  • Sidney Powell then filed her own motion for a speedy trial and basically copied and pasted Kenneth Chesebro's speedy trial motion. She didn't even change "he/him" to "she/her."
  • The judge then combined Kenneth Cheesebro and Sidney Powell into one trial.
  • Kenneth Chesebro filed a motion to sever. No one wants to be sitting at the defendant's table with Sidney Powell's dumb ass, but that motion was denied.

We're less than a month away from the first trial! I still haven't heard anything about trial dates for other RICO defendants.

I find it really funny that Powell's reward for the copy/paste is to have her trial at the exact same time as Chesebro. The universe works in mysterious yet funny ways.

It's going to be interesting to see what the judge will allow the DA to present in the Cheese and Kraken trial, because it's still a RICO Case, and that means there was a conspiracy. To deny the evidence that shows the illegal actions of others not in this specific case will be what Cheesy wants, but it's all part of the same conspiracy. I'm not even close to a lawyer, so I have no idea how this will all shake out.

From what I've read, they're planning to present the entire case even though Chesebro and Powell are only involved in a part of it. Apparently all evidence in a RICO case is admissible against all defendants even if the defendants weren't involved in other parts of it.

I hope Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss testify against Rudy Giuliani, Trevian Kutti, and the others who were involved in harassing them.

I still hate that this is basically Trump forcing his minions to walk through a minefield to clear a path for him.

Georgia's governor can't pardon anyone in the state, either. Brian Kemp doesn't seem to be a fan of Trump at this point, though.

I think they'll just have to abide by the judge's schedule for deadlines for particular motions. They're the ones who requested speedy trials, so there's not much of an excuse.

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/4228850-georgia-senator-who-demanded-fani-willis-special-session-suspended-from-gop-caucus/

Georgia state Sen. Colton Moore, who demanded a special session of the Legislature for an investigation of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), was indefinitely suspended from the chambers GOP caucus Thursday.

Despite the fact 32 of 33 Republican State Senators, the Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House, and the Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party agree that a Special Session to take action against the Fulton County District Attorney is impossible, Senator Moore has a right to his opinion, according to a statement posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, by the Georgia Senate Republicans.

However, during his advocacy for his ill-conceived proposal, Senator Moore has knowingly misled people across Georgia and our nation, causing unnecessary tension and hostility, while putting his Caucus colleagues and their families at risk of personal harm, the statement continued.

Moore hit back at his suspension, saying he will now refer to the GOP Senate caucus as the RINO caucus, meaning Republican in name only.

The Georgia RINOs responded to my call to fight back against the Trump witch hunts by acting like children and throwing me out of the caucus, Moore said in a post on X. But Im not going anywhere.

The people of Georgia are 100% with me, he continued. This is the fight of our lifetime, and I will continue to double down to defend the rule of law and do what is right. I will continue to EXPOSE Fani Willis and the RINOs covering for her.

Georgia and Arizona seem to be the last bastions of sanity in the Republican Party.

He isn't winning and frankly he should even be given the chance. Blue swing states must remove him from the ballot an outright refuse to put him on no matter what any court says. All they have to do is drag it out until after the election then its moot.

Cheesy, you're going to be destroyed here. Your plans of saying "it's legal for me to break these laws because I'm a lawyer" we're never going to fly. And with the insane Kraken by your side at trial, you'll never stand a chance of winning. Just take a plea and flip. We've literally already seen your emails saying that you know you had no legal standing to challenge the election and keep Trump in power. Your speedy trial bluff is blowing up in your face. Georgia recently enacted a law that would allow the state legislature to remove "rogue" prosecutors. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together foresaw that Republicans wanted to use this to remove Fani Willis from office, even though she's an elected official, because she was investigating Donald Trump. I believe the governor signed the law and said the law wouldn't be used against her.

Fast forward to recent months, Fani Willis has indicted Donald Trump. Moore was pushing for the governor to call the legislature into a special session just to use that law to remove Fani Willis from office. Brian Kemp, fortunately, gave a stern public response saying he wouldn't do that.

This is one thing I'm finding kinda interesting about the state of the GOP today. It seems like the majority of state level Republicans in Georgia cannot stand Donald Trump any more due to what he did to their state and their constituents after the 2020 election. There are still some Trump sycophants in the party, but overall, Georgia is not having it.

I'm not sure what the context is here. It could be anything form Moore "threatening" the legitimacy of the state GOP by attacking them or literally Trump's supporters issuing death threats - as they're wont to do - against anyone not willing to stop the "witch hunt".

From King Rial's AJC link -

The temperature has only risen since then. Moore has called Republicans who have objected to his petition spineless RINOs (Republicans in name only) and even warned of impending violence.

Do you want a civil war? I dont want a civil war. I dont want to have to draw my rifle, Moore said during a recent appearance on Steve Bannons War Room podcast. I want to make this problem go away with my legislative means of doing so.

His broadsides may have also spurred threats against some Republican senators that led the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to seek details from lawmakers about harassing activity and suspicious behavior.

After state Sens. Bo Hatchett and Shelly Echols issued a joint statement criticizing Moores call, they said the senator dispatched robocalls, texts and emails targeting them.

Its a horrible abuse of power. A violation of Colton Moores oath of office, Hatchett said. Hes using the money he steals from conservatives to attack fellow Republicans doing nothing but helping the Democrats across the state and putting his conservative colleagues in danger.
