Like I just got done with client and while I was talking to them I just started having trouble getting words to come out. Like for a get bit. It wasn't just a hiccup. Has that happened to anyone else?

Yes, I cover it up by making soft laser sounds, none of that hard laser shit, I save that for pee time

I have shutdowns and maybe even selective mutism. But yeah, there are definitely times where it's hard for me to talk or I just can't. Or there's a big, uncomfortable delay in me saying something that it shouldn't take me long to say. Like the words are there, all ready in my head, but I can't make my mouth express them.

Sounds like normal anxiety, or anxiety related.

Doesn't mean you have some disorder or issue, just stress likely. Especially if this was an important client or someone you were supposed to impress.

If it keeps up and happens frequently, go see a doctor.

I have this issue when I have to rush to speak. If I speak to someone who I feel doesn't have time, and I have to be as brief and to the point as possible (and this happens a lot at work), then I often trip over my words because I get in my own head about it and stress over not being fast enough or taking up their time, etc.

I used to speak in front of crowds as part of my old job so I worked on my speech a lot. One thing I learned was that it's more appropriate to pause when you need to think rather than saying "um" a lot, so sometimes I pause lol and that makes phone calls in particular pretty stressful for me because people can't see it in my face over the phone that I'm pausing to think... I also had to be careful not to say the wrong thing at that old job, so I became very selective with my words (hence my frequent edits on this site), but it causes some hesitation sometimes as well. Luckily I have a decent enough vocabulary and a bit of savoir faire and charm to get myself through that normally lol

If I have to think about what I have to say, I forget what the word is that I'm trying to think of. I can picture it iny head, but the brain processes to the mouth don't fire. I can do stream of consciousness just fine.

I can blank out a lot, yeah.

So is femininity, at least it is for me. I have to say it really slowly or else I'll get tongue-tied.
