That's the problem with Republicans, they know that they blew up the budget with endless defense spending, but want everyone to think they're still using responsible caveman math. Yeah, Republicans are not actually trying to achieve a balanced budget. They can't be because they've said they won't cut Social Security / Medicare, they won't cut military spending, and they won't raise taxes.
